Kids in a New Groove is a 501c3 non-profit. We provide weekly private music lessons to youth in foster care. Our vision is to build a solid foundation for foster youth so that they can age out of care with tools for success. Please see www.kidsinanewgroove.org for more information on what we do and to see our current logo. Through our program we provide a consistent connection for abused and neglected youth in foster care. Kids in care are transferred every six months on average. Many times the Kids in a New Groove music teacher who comes to teach a foster child at their private home or placement is the only consistent connection in their lives; no matter how many times a child is moved from foster home to home, or how many beds they have slept in, our teachers come on a weekly basis to teach. When our kids have set and met musical goals, they are rewarded with their own brand new instrument (and kids can take any kind of lesson, all at no cost to them). The goal is to empower kids who come from a background of abuse and neglect and to provide them with a consistent connection and tools for success. The "tool" is music lessons and the recipe for success is giving a child a weekly mentor to count on for lessons.

I am open to any suggestion, but like red, gray and yellow, or blue, yellow and gray. Since we serve boys and girls equally, the colors should be appropriate for both. Please go with your own color instincts though! I am not good with color and might see something that works better than my own personal choices.

My main goal is to convey a sense of what we do by looking at our logo. We are a solution to the national foster care crisis. We are currently only in Texas, but hope to spread nationwide someday, so a strong logo might help us go far!
