Please keep in mind point 2) from the comment we posted below.
2) We would like to try using the name of the company as the logo, as opposed to a sign or a symbol. You may try to use "Kaya Energy" or "Kaya Energy Group" but the message needs to come through.
As you're thinking about the designs, please re-read the rest of the points as well.
1) We want to be original and unique above all (like the name Kaya). The designs we were getting were too similar to those in the industry. We need to break the mold.
2) We would like to try using the name of the company as the logo, as opposed to a sign or a symbol. You may try to use "Kaya Energy" or "Kaya Energy Group" but the message needs to come through.
3) When people see the logo they need to think FIRST: "This company provides ENERGY SOLUTIONS" and SECOND: "I trust this company because they know what they are doing, they are innovative, my financial investment is safe with them, they are a solid company, and they care about customers first, they are on our side."
4) As we've explained, the name of the company "Kaya" means "Island" in Taino (the native language) and "Nature" in Sanscrit. For inspiration and originality you could try googling some images and use the historic art as inspiration to come up with something modern and forward-thinking, but with historical roots to give it a special twist.
6) Keep in mind that the image of the world is overused for this industry and although we are not against it, it would have to be something really original for us to choose it. Think outside the box.
7) Think brands like APPLE for originality, trust, and customer service, and General Electric (GE) for solid, safety, and innovation.

Please DO NOT do 3D as it makes it too busy and also it is most expensive for printing and the like. SIMPLE IS ALWAYS BETTER AND EASIER TO REMEMBER.

As you can see, we have extended the contest for 3 more days because we are not yet satisfied with the overall selections. So far we have seen very good work but we know you guys can come up with something we absolutely love!
Below I am including the most important points we want to communicate and some direction on creative.

Thank you for the additional designs. We are thinking that we would like to try something a little different with the remaining hours.
Below we have included a number of links for Taino symbols. If you remember from the brief, the Tainos were the indigenous group that inhabited the Caribbean region prior to the arrival of Europeans. "Kaya" is actually a Taino word that means "Island".
We would like to see some ideas incorporating these symbols into our logo. We do not want the exact image or style; we want you to use them as inspiration for a modern twist.

We woke up to more great designs. Thank you all so much for your continued work!
Here are some quick thoughts:
Can you start using the blue for "Kaya" and "Group", and green for "Energy". And use dark grey for "Green Energy. Made in DR". Also, the blue used in 209 is too bright. We like the colors used in 171.
Keep in mind that we are a company that brings renewable energy solutions to businesses. We are trying to demonstrate that clean energy is an intelligent business investment. We want to be "green", but we don't want to be portrayed as complete "tree-huggers". We help businesses make rational decisions on their energy use.

We wanted to thank you all again for all of these wonderful designs! As you may have noticed, we have decided to extend the project period for an additional 3 days.
The reason is because we have seen a lot of incredible designs and, as a result, we are having a difficult time deciding exactly which design we want to represent our company.
We will continue to provide feedback on this forum and to individual designers.
Please feel free to send us messages at any time to provide us your personal perspective on the designs. We want keep communication open and positive!!

174, 112, 173, and 89 are all vivid and visually appealing. We particularly like the fact that it incorporates the "nature", "technology" and "reliability" themes we have been going for.
135 is simple and elegant. More ideas on this theme in the next few hours would be much appreciated!
141 and 152 are both unique as compared to the rest of the designs, which has given us more to think about. In particular, 141 says "sophisticated" and "reliable", which are two components of our company that we really want to emphasize.
We cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with in the remaining hours. Thank you all again for your efforts!

We have gone through and eliminated a lot of designs that we do not think will work for us.
Those remaining are fairly diverse, and we continue to look forward to seeing more unique and memorable designs.

We like the idea of having a leaf in our logo, but we want some diversity. It seems like everyone is using the same leaf. We would really love to see some other ideas you all may have in this regard.

In particular, the font and color scheme on #41 conveys strength and reliability, which is also what we are looking for.
That said, we are looking forward to seeing other shapes (we have seen mostly circular themes) and additional ways of creatively conveying technology, nature, solar power, renewable energy, island, sophistication, reliability, professionalism, etc. . .
