    I want to thank everyone who participated in the logo contest, especially those of you who worked really hard and produced multiple revisions.

    My goal was for designers to come up with something contemporary and original, so I didn’t want to provide too many instructions which would limit creativity. There was a wide variety of designs that spanned many styles. I individually contacted the designers who came up with the best ideas, and gave them suggestions about color, fonts, etc. so that the final product would be to my liking. There were a few in particular that I really liked, and I could have gone with any of them.

    The winning designer did something that no one else tried. They used a unique lower case font on the k and integrated it into the 2. It’s simple, fresh and contemporary – just what I was looking for. Also, when I requested changes to their design they made the changes within 24 hours. They were very responsive and communicated ideas back to me.

    Hopefully this feedback will help you with future contests and thank you for your participation. I really I appreciate your effort.

    Hello Everyone:

    I would like to try something different with the K2.

    Please create a button that looks like a Social Bookmark such as Facebook, Twitter or StumbleUpon (same shape and style) with K2 on the button.

    This design will give me the ability to use just the K2 button as a link or Social Bookmark or Favicon; and I can use the full name "K2 Information Systems" on business cards and letterhead.

    Hi Everyone:

    Now that the project's been going for a few days, I can narrow down the focus on design. Hopefully this will help to expedite the process and require less work going forward.

    Lettering should be contemporary and clean, not "typewriter" looking.

    Colors should be bold such as red, burgundy, gray, orange; not blue.

    K2 should be on the left, with Information above Systems and LLC in a smaller font if it's added.

    K2 is such a large focal point, that when you add an icon such as a globe, the logo has two focal points and gets too busy.

    I like some of the globe effects, however it's as if I have two logos. The only time that the globe works is when it's above the words, not in front. I may want the globe for printing on shirts, however I would leave it off of the website. Not sure yet.

    What I want to try is to add an effect that incorporates within the words "K2 Information Systems". It can be something such as -

    - A line that intersects through the wording
    - Dots that connect the letter "i" in information
    - Sparkle squares or dots emanating from the words or within letters

    All of you are the creative types, so I'm sure that you'll come up with an idea.

    I don't want any swooshes because that's been done too many times.

    #17 Sanval - K and 2 need to be rounded, contemporary fonts, not typewriter looking. I like swooshes and lines that show movement and technology. Red circle is good idea, however it needs to show technology.

    #25 Sevenlions - I prefer rounded and curved lines, not the jagged 2. Colors need to be more masculine such as burgundy, gray, orange, etc. Blue won't work.

    PH could you tell me what exactly you got in your mind. Just an icon, or your initials K2 with an icon in front, or just K2 as an inital icon?

    #19 Looks pretty good with the LLC, however flip it the other way so that the L is on the bottom.

    I'm not positive that I need an icon in front because the K2 is so large. Or perhaps the icon needs to blend in and balance better.

    #15 jtscreative - I like the fonts, the colors and the feel - clean and contemporary. The K is a little too hidden. Also, there needs to be something that conveys technology - perhaps a symbol, an icon, lines, dots or bits.

    If you look at my new website preview, you'll see that the sample logo of "Panacea" has a little icon next to it - small and simple. http://k2is.com.previewdns.com/

    Something else to consider - condense "systems" and add LLC turned vertically at the end. LLC isn't mandatory, however it would probably add balance and interest to this design. Not sure until I see it.

    Sevenlions - The two blue lines don't convey the number 2. It's too abstract.

    Vinton - K2 on the left with Information over Systems look like a good balance for structure.

    Please review the examples I posted above to see what I'm looking for.
