In January, 2009, my 15 year old son Jacob died unexpectedly in his sleep. Since that time, my wife and I, along with our family and friends, have created a charity in his memory called Jacob's Ladder Foundation. We provide scholarships to kids in need in the Southern Illinois area. Our annual fundraiser, called Pig-a-Palooza, combines two of Jacob's passions: Great BBQ and exceptional music. Pig-a-Palooza is an outdoor BBQ event where we have created a carnival type atmosphere for kids (inflatibles, carnival rides, etc) plus activities for adults (such as a silent and oral auction and adult type games). At the end of the evening, we always have a concert under the stars with a local rock band. Pig-a-Palooza is held at a park which has an amphitheater for the concert. | I'm not sure. Lately I've been drawn to those Phillips 66 billboards that have kind of like a retro blue/red feel to them. But I'm not sure if that would work or our needs. Just be creative I guess. | ||
