If you read my comments carefully, primary use of this logo will be as watermark placed in right lower corner of my pictures. Pictures might be in variety of colors, saturation and B&W tones. The goal is to have ONE universal logo to look good on all types of photos.
I am not looking to change logo color scheme for different types of photos.
I know it is more difficult, but try to pick up color schema for the logo that will look good on most of my photos.
For instance, yellow fonts probably won't be visible on white background. Dark orange will look good.
Also, see if you can add some artistic touch reflecting my customers view.. Most of them are rock musicians, so I had an idea to introduce some spot light (lights) to drop light on to the logo.
All other creative ideas are welcome!
Please keep in mind that I am looking for some really sophisticated, artistic look rather than simplified graphics.
No grey, black and white colors in the logo please!
Make them colored. Lights may come in bright red, purple, yellow, greens, blue!
Make my name in colors.
Lower the light and move light spot up. Otherwise logo is too large and will take too much space on the image placed as watermark.
Remeber - 95% of the usage is a watermarking of my photos. Go to my site and see my pictures and try to image your logo placed on them.
One more thing - most of my clients are rock musicians. Stage lights on rock concerts come in variety of colors!
Not just whites. Try reds, greens, purple, yellow and combinations of them! Try backlighting than lights come from behind the subject, creating silhouettes..
Also, I still haven't decided should I use my name or the website name. So could you please try both:
Igor Vidyashev and IV PHOTO.CA?
It might be the case that I like to use just a website name... Depends how it looks...
Hi Sofie. Thank you for your participation. It is a very good starting point (design #21)!
Here is what is not matching to my recommendation:
I like spotlights, but prefer them colored.
Also, grey, black and white colors won't be always visible on photographs with this colors. I plan to apply JUST ONE logo design to all of my photos in one big batch mode, so there is no way to use one logo for dark photos and another for light photos. Logo should be universal. Let's remove this vertical bars (not relevant to photography or music) and direct lights to my name. Circle light patches might be underneath the name and tag line (may be with shadows created by the letters.
Seems like $200 is not really attractive price for one logo watermark? :)
OK, guys, I have an idea. Let's try to do this:
Imagine there is a stage and my name standing on it in 3D shining colors lit by a spot light (or few colored lights) coming down to the stage from top right direction and/or from behind the NAME. Make it look like a rock star concert and the THE STAR is my name (MAKE THE NAME 3 DIMENSIONAL AND BRIGHT METAL BRUSHED LETTERS.
First, the goal is to use THE SAME one image as a watermark. It is too much time to spend to think and pick best colored watermark for each particular photograph. I usually do watermarking in big batch job of dozens or hundreds of photos. So one color design should look good and readable on all kind of different types (and colors!) of photographs.
Next, try to move the logo image from top to the left top part of the image and make it twice smaller in size (#7). Also see if the logo color will look better if different form the name color.
The word "photography' should be colored as well, otherwise it will be lost on some grey photograph area. Try to see if green, purple or other will make sense..
Thank you for your efforts!
I think I clearly explained what kind of message it should send to my clients.
My clients are rock musicians and should feel if they hire me to photograph weir band, they will look like the CHAMPIONS! It should hopefully be really bright (possibly 3D) logo with vibrant colors. Something really catching eye and memorable. Also, it should be visible on black, white and color photographs placed as a watermark over the image.
Please ignore my color recommendations. I think brighter colors would be better than grey, black etc. Especially for watermarking the pictures. Show me some real sparks of creativity! I am not looking for boring staff like simple text... The fonts and colors should really show some Rock'n'Roll attitude!
Thank you!
