Earthen Love is a non-profit organization that was created in response to the recent wildfires in central Texas. Our mission is to rebuild homes for people who lost their homes using natural sustainable building techniques. Even though we will build homes for anybody who wants one, our initial focus will be on uninsured or underinsured families, many of whom are still staying in shelters or undesireable conditions. Some of the natural building techniques that will be used are cob, compressed earth blocks, rammed earth, straw-bale and cordwood construction. We will also implement other sustainable techniques like rainwater collection, alternative energy, permaculture, fire-resistant landscaping, edible landscaping, etc. Some of the homes may even have living roofs.
