Okay, everybody. We're in the home stretch. So far, my favorite is #141.
Would prefer the couple/heart to look like #50 with couple coming out of the O. Or at least see how it looks.
As for the font, I'm responding to something like #60 – very clear, readable font.
But don't get married to that one font. It should simply be very easy to read the word E-Cyrano. Too many colors or curlicues or hearts or manipulations of the letter E are simply distracting.
Personally, I don’t think we need an extra heart for the dash like there is in #141. The heart around the couple works fine.
Where can we put a pen or quill? Can we use a quill as the dash? Or put it underneath, like in #82? I just don’t want the quill to look like an exclamation point.
I love the idea that we start the E-Cyrano with writing and end with love. Maybe put a pen at the beginning or underneath, and finish with a couple emerging in a heart coming out of the O like in #50.
I'm hoping that sunny comes back to give this a shot, but if she doesn't, all the other designers will have a chance to win first prize.
Thanks for your time, effort, and consideration. I'm very impressed with you and this site and feel lucky to have found you.
Can't wait to see your work tomorrow and choose a winner!
Wonderful work. We're still a little quill and heart heavy, but some nice breakthroughs. Wedding rings. Male/female signs. Graphic abstract couples. Good stuff. I just posted on the creative brief a bunch of logos that I thought were clean, creative and clever. It's hard to do modern, clear and witty in just a logo, but they managed to do it. Hope this provides some more fuel for the fire. I've also put stars next to the handful of designs where I thought there was a creative breakthrough. Hope that helps a bit. I'm very impressed with your wherewithal...
Ah, I see I made the mistake of rating one design with 4 stars. Guess I've learned my lesson. Sorry, I'm new here.
I simply liked the fact that the designer was trying to use writing within the logo. I'm not married to the idea and I don't think we need tons of quills, since very few people use quills to write these days.
Please look at the original creative brief for a link to the NEW site to see how CLEAN it is. The logo has to be consistent with that - and, at the same time, suggest what we do - write online dating profiles that lead people to love.
I'm just hoping for a little more imagination beyond hearts and quills. Look at the number of hearts and quills we see on here. :) Pens, pencils, arrows, computers, men and women are all acceptable variations.
And you're not feeling that, let's try a strong logo that doesn't make use of any of these gimmicks, but looks good on E-Cyrano... I will look for examples in coming days to upload. Once again, I thank you for your time and energy and hope you're having a good weekend.
Good work, everybody. They're getting better! Just know that the logo has to be clean and readable, and, at the same time, convey sophistication, literacy, and love. It's tricky, but I'm definitely seeing more potential. How do we illustrate, in graphics, that we WRITE your profile for you, ATTRACT better partners and help you find LOVE? I've seen a few nods to Cyrano, which is great. Not many attempts to show "writing", however.
E-Cyrano wants to convey confidence, professionalism, literacy, love, and wit. A great profile is funny, self-aware, unique, and specific, and a great logo should be as well. I want singles to know that they're in great hands with us and that we will make a tangible difference in the quality and quantity of people who are contacting them online. If there's one target demo, it's women, 35-50, $75K earners with college degrees. But don't go over the top with women stuff and hearts - I don't want it to be cheesy. :)

The website itself is very clean, Web 2.0. The logo should be very easy to read as well.
Thanks for your time and consideration. I look forward to seeing more great work and giving one designer the big prize...
