We have now had an amazing 268 drafts in for our logo contest. That is well over what we would have expected. And they are still comming in .As you can understand it would be impossible for us to leave individual feedback on that many logos.
But as a general comment I can say that all the ideas comming in are of great quality and generaly people have read my earlier comments and we have seen the chagnes in fonts, colours, and overall weights of the symbols.
We have logos ranging from accurate depictions of what our business to the more abstract symbols. We lilke all the variations in colours and we are sure that there is winning logo among them.
I hope my comments would have provided some help along the way...
#34, #40 hexart can you try to move the symbols closer in the #34 and can we also try positionning the symbols in front of the name? Font: can we also try a different font (lighter in weight/thickness?)
Hello and good afternoon to all. many thanks for all the new designs comming in today.
comment back to Mojo:
Sorry but the directors just didn't think that your previous submisions were elegant enough so the lost out in the first round. However your new submissions look very nice and are very elegant. thanks a lot.
To Cannastasi:
Hi and thanks for your message. No further changes are needed as they are the selected best from the lot you sent us. Now its just to wait and see for the second elimination round.
We have now had the first round of elimination and even more submissions.
If we have eliminated a entire series of logos of the same variation please do not resubmit the same idea as we have decided that this was not appropriate.
Logos are now overall looking more balanced in terms of weight of overall logo and we are also seeing some lighter and different fonts.
Individual feedbacks from last nights meeting:
- #46 can we see same logo different colours and fonts pls.
-#43 can we see same logo witout "man in house" pls
-#34 can we see same log with the items in the "cross" closer together.
-#33 Can we see a lighter version please ( weight of lines and dots and font
-#22 we need to see this resubmitted in larger version and different colours pls.
-# 15, #14 can we see those in different colours pls #84, #85 I think "Coratcoret" got there first with that one. #9 can we see different colours please and different font.
Thats it for this morning. Thanks to all for submitting and we will feed back on the new designs as soon as possible.
Not a major problem (in terms of copyright infringement as its not that similar)so please don't withdraw but all designers please be aware of what other care groups in the UK have
HERE is the link again:
http://www.carehome.co.uk/caregroups/
To those new submitters please be aware we are a care home providers for elderly people and NOTHING TO DO WITH CHILDCARE so please avoid any connotations to that in fonts/ symbols etc.!!
Good morning designers! More designs in and more colours good to see.
There are still quite a few designs comming in that are unbalanced ie "Top Heavy" where the symbol is still too heavy compared to the name on the bottom. #65#53#52 for eg.
#64, #63 are good examples of the balance we are looking for in a "symbol on top of name" logo.
Fonts: more elegant/lighter fonts comming into use which is good. drafts #57 to #62 is probably as far as you can go in the "elegant font direction" with drafts #64 and #43#48 beeing the other end of the scale.
I hope that should give you some idea of fonts.
Now for some driect comments to logos submitted:
#43 can we try the same logo without a man inside the building ?
#45#44 can you resubmit making the entire logo slightly larger?
If I have not mentioned you design it is not because you are not in the running. ,please remember a group of us will decide later on today which logos to eliminate so the rest of you will have clearer idea of where we are heading.
Hope this gives you some more directions, if not message back to me here .
Hello and Good evening to all! Thanks to the new submitters for today.
General comments for going ahead:
Tomorrow night will be the first "elimination round".So general comments to take abboard before that are:
Font: We need to see a much lighter/Elegant font all round -Drafts #44#45#43 are a step in the right direction (and the ideas are not half bad either)
Symbols: a lot of the symbols are either above or alongside the lettering wich is fine but a lot of them are still "top heavy"
with the symbol too large. A lot of them are also circular and it seems that a lot of you are getting inspired from what is already on the table but please keep an open mind ! Remember:Original suggestions will stand out.
Colours: please note that all colours are now go. Please try to give us other examples of colour combinations. It's also good to see gradient colours like in draft #48
Drafts #31 (danny) in case I didn't make myself clear this morning I meant to ask if the symbol could not be in "brush strokes" maybe?
That's all for today. If the comments are not giving you the directions you need please let me know by comments on this page as it gets chequed regularly of course! and again thanks to all the designers!
Good morning to all ..my goodness even more designs !! Thanks again.. lots of ideas out there..
General Comments to all designs:
Colors: Can we move away from blues and greens now just to get other ideas of colours please ?
Fonts: Can we also try less heavy/ more elegant fonts? Draft#22 has the right idea. but the shapes in that one could be any company (lawyers or solicitors come to mind)so might need looking at.
Weight: A lot of the logos are now "symbol over name/tagline" which is fine but a lot of them are also quite top heavy eg draft#26 draft#27 draft#28 draft#24 draft#25 draft#17 (but idea is good)
Now to individual comments:
Draft#31 thanks danny..would it be possible to maybe try the same shape with "brush" design to make it even more lighter/elegant? ( I hope I make myself clear otherwise comment back to me pls.
To Hexart: are drafts#35 draft#36 and draft#37 the same ?
To Fingers: draft#12 and draft #13 will have to go I am afraid. (previous comment and #12 does not portray our business well enough)
We are trying to keep all options open as we want to seee as many ideas as possible. We have a directors meeting tomorrow eve where we will select the ones we want to explore further (from waht we already have).
Thanks again to all. Please feel free to get back to me via the comments if you need more clarification or have questions.
To Drafts #4,#3,10- Now I know what it is...when viewed a certain way the shapes look like a "darth vader "style helmet" ! (quite clever actually but maybe not exactly what we are looking for, bu as I said if you can change the shapes slightly....
Hello and thanks to all the designers for their submissions (especially over a week-end!) They are comming in thick and fast now so we thought it was time for some feedback to you all.
General Comments:
Please try and remember that we want something simple, elegant, and memorable and that reflects the business we are in. That means that (draft #2)+(draft #7)sorry it is just too busy- and (draft#1) looks more like a real estate company to me.But please re-submit if you have other ideas or can symplify what you already submitted.
We like all the symbols that have been sumbitted as part of a logo. A lot of them are with the trendy "humanoid shapes" witch indicates "personal" and "caring" connotations that's good.( and one way of doing it- not necessarily the only way pls remember!)
Also please feel fre to try other colours as we have now discovered seeing the logos in the brief colours that they might no be as appropriate as we thought!(sorry)
Font:Can we try centenary not in caps ?
although we agree that the word CARE should be emphasized which it has been allround in all the designs.
Follwing drafts have cought our eyes:
Draft #8 -good start- can the symbol be less heavy ?
Drafts #6+#5 good symbols/shapes as well although they seem to salute? (connotations of armed forces) can we make them have "arms around shoulders?" (or another caring gesture ?)
Draft #11 Slightly too "celtic" otherwise good
Draft #9 very "standard" it seems you see these sort of shapes everywhere?
Draft #10 again the shapes seem to be slightly too big or heavy ?
Draft #13 slightly too "medical/pharmaceutical" for our use.
That's all for now and I do hope it helps!
Thanks again to all of you and keep up the good work!

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR LOGOS ARE UPLOADED IN THE RIGHT FORMAT SO THEY AREN'T SMALLER THAN OTHER LOGOS AS THEY WILL SUFFER IN COMPARISON.
FOR EX: #119, #120 ,#140
AS PROJECT HOLDERS WE CAN ONLY VIEW VIA THIS WEB PAGE.(AND IT HELP IF WE DON'T HAVE TO DOUBLECLICK ON EACH LOGO TO SEE A PROPER SIZE OF IT.

#47, #48 I meant not colour wise but thickness etc...
#45 , #44 It probably is the way it was uploaded but it comes out smaller than other logos. therefore the comment.
