Congratulations! Raindesign, Project holder has selected your design #9 as Winner. Thanks to all the designers for their creativity and hard work. Thanks
Hi Raindesign - thanks for your revisions! Again, I appreciate your consistent effort with this project. What I'm going to do is share all these designs with other project members and will finalize out choice next week!
To XtremeCreative2: Thanks for the submission. I like how your design works well with when in just two colors, but I like the landscape approach used by Raindesign better. You are welcome to resubmit if you'd like.
To otakik: Thanks for your submission, I appreciate your effort, and you did a good job create a sense of the river. Your have tough competition here, however, and I'm leaning toward to Raindesign's style and detail, and inclusion of paddler, etc...
Hi NoahPollock: Yes i'm working in vector based program it's way too easy to do the any changes later if you need. Per your new inputs the revisions i.e 'rotate' boat, kayaker and one paddle in water etc. have been made - Thanks
Hello Raindesign! You did a great job with the revisions. I really appreciate the time you've taken to incorporate the suggested changes - from the mountains to the silver maple, to the kayaker, you've nailed it! It is also good to see how well the image works against a yellow background.
The last thing I'd like to suggest is I liked how the original kayaker was facing into the river a bit and had a paddle in the water. If you are up to trying, I'd love to see the kayaker "rotated" slightly to the left (counter clockwise), with one paddle in water?
I'm assuming you are working with a vector based program and I could make some changes later if necessary, correct?
Other than that suggestions, I'm really impressed!
Hi Raindesign,
I shared your work with a colleague. He agreed that your concept is right on! He also had a couple other suggestions that I'd like you to consider.
1) Can you try bringing the mountains slightly closer, or slightly bigger, so they doesn't look quite as far away? I'll upload an image of what the river looks like.
2) We're also wondering if you could change the tree used on the left to reflect more of what is found in the valley. To help you, I've uploaded an image of a silver maple which is very common on the river. Thanks!!
Hi Raindesign! Great work yesterday. Thanks for making the landscape fit the region better -you really captured the feel for the place. I like draft #4 a lot. If we want to use a more rounded design in some materials we can just crop the image and adjust accordingly - but you are giving us great things to work with!
One thing that could make the image better is some slight modifications to the paddler. To be a bit more realistic, I think the boat should be a bit longer, and the area where the paddler enters the boat should be more fluid. I've uploaded a few images if kayakers that perhaps you could use as reference. Looking forward to what you are able to work out!
Hello Raindesign! What a beautiful image (Draft 1), I like it a lot and am impressed with your talents! One comment is that the landscape surrounding the Connecticut River is a bit more pastoral and gentle than the type of landscape you portrayed. I've upload a print called "waterway" by Sabra Fields that is somewhat more accurate (although there certainly are medium sized mountains in the background. If you'd be interested in working in some of those pastoral elements I'd be pysched.
