    All:

Thank you all for your amazing work! We will be reviewing all of the logos tonight and will either pick a winner or extend the contest. Many of you saved the best for last and we would like to see a few designs refined a bit more. If I do extend the contest I will contact all of the designers with logos that are still in the hunt to let them know.

Thanks again for your hard work!

    Doug

    Hi all,

We are really pleased with the designs that you have been submitting and hope to see a few more before the contest ends. I've contact several of you to ask for changes to some drafts you have submitted. Hope to see those soon! If any of you are working on something great and need more time - let me know. I am considering extending the contest another 3 days.

Try to avoid designs that are too organic. I like wavy lines but not too many - try and mix curves and straight lines. We are a tech company so we don't want our logo to look too organic.

    Thanks everyone!

Please use the following guidelines for new designs:

    1. All elements of the logo should have a matte finish - nothing that looks plastic. Subtle gradients are welcome. #34 is a perfect example of what I am looking for in a finish.

    2. When selecting a font use one that does not have top and bottom bars on the letter I. #55 is an example of a font I do not like.

    3. No more logos that use M and U for the graphic. The icon should be compact, simple, clean. This is an excellent example: http://www.mycroburst.com/drafts/display/contest/153/draft/8252

    4. The color scheme should be Blue, Green, Silver and Orange. Blue must be the primary color in the icon, the other colors can be used any way you like. You do not have to use all four colors but should use at least 2-3.

    5. The icon should look solid, substantial. I don't mean big and boxy, just not thin and wispy.

Please use colors similar to what you see in #34 for new designs and revisions. That includes both orange and green.

I like the font used in #34, #43 and #48 - I don't want to get any more funky that what you see in #48.

Each word, Unison and Micro, should be in either all uppercase or all lowercase. It's OK for one word to be all capital and the other all lower case.

Please remember it is very important that both the logo and text work well online and in print. Also think about how the logo would look stitched on a shirt.

If your logo is kind of flashy I'd also like to see a simplified version so I can get an idea of what it will look like in print. i.e. see what designden did for me with #23 and #44

I am leaning towards the more "solid" logos right now such as #33 and #34 because I think they would look as great in print or on a shirt as they do online.

Thank you for the feedback Firman. I will be adding ratings today and trying to narrow my vision to help the designers out.

Thank's for info. I am sorry for that :) Still waiting and watching your contest. I still can't understand what you want. More high tech , simple, incorporate, eyecathing design. What is the most important for you. You like most design and it's confusing me about the most important / interest of you. Rating may be help us to know the direction.

#16 Could I see the swoosh in another color? I'm thinking maybe an orange but if you have any ideas I'd love to see them.

#18 Can I see a version on a white background?

#19 Can you put a top on the M?

#21 Don't care for the logo.

#22 and #23 This has potential. I'd like to see this simplified a little. Can I see it on a solid color background, remove the background from inside the logo, use two colors for the U and the M inside the logo.

#24 Thanks for trying that, I should trust the designers - I like #16 better!

#25 I really like this and your earlier idea but I am worried that the U and M are too had to recognize. My only idea is to extend the back of the U down to form the back of a U and the front leg of an M. Could you try that and see if it looks weird? If you have any other ideas I'd love to see them.

#28 and #29 This design is not working for me, sorry.

#26 Not what we are looking for, sorry.

#27 I like what you did with Unison - we are Micro not Telcom though. ;) Could you maybe combine this idea with what you did in #17?

#15 looks a little too busy for my taste. Could I see it again without the "computer service company" text and a thinner font? Also the blue has too much green in it.

#16 Sharp! I like the logo a lot. Could I see what it looks like with Micro in all capital letters? I like how Dizmart has Unison in a thicker font and Micro in a thinner font in #6

#17 Firman I hope you will submit something again. I like what you did with the colors in the logo.

I like #11, however, it is very similar to one of my customers logo (initials removed from a circle) so I don't think I could use it.

#12 is great, very clean and professional looking. My only complaint is I am afraid with the dot above the U some people might mistake the U for an I.

I'd like to see some logo's that do not incorporate U or M. The logo should make people think high tech and professional more than just computer.

#14 just the words Unison Micro in the logo please. :)

Since a picture is worth a thousand words here are a few logos that I really like:

I like the techy feel of this logo and think it would look great in print: http://www.mycroburst.com/drafts/display/contest/148/draft/7485

I like how the logo fits around the text in this one, it's also clean and really pops I think:
    http://www.mycroburst.com/drafts/display/contest/7/draft/232

I like everything about this draft from the logo to the font. What is that logo supposed to be? I don't know but it looks good!:

I also love the logo and font in this draft: http://www.mycroburst.com/drafts/display/contest/95/draft/3766

Consolidating updates to my design brief in this one post:

    What is your preferred layout?
    Text on the Right
    Text Below Symbol
    Text Through Symbol

Please state any preferences of colors combinations:
Blue (important), Silver, Other colors are ok! This logo will be used in print and online so try to design a logo that can be redone in 2-3 colors for print.

Which element do you want to AVOID using in your logo?
    Embossing, shadows

  • 12 janvier 2010 00:42 firman

U can update the brief here if you like :)

I'd also like to see some options with the text through the logo. Sorry for all the changes to my original brief. I'm new to this process so please bear with me. (Is there anyway to update the brief?)

I like #6 - sort of has a stylized power button look to it. I would like to see the words Unison and Micro closer together in #6 like they are in #7. Less drab colors would also be nice.

I like the text in #3 as well as the look of the screen on the laptop. I'm not sure about the highlights you added to the edges of the laptop though. #5 is very clever, could you try using two colors for the U and M elements that make up the laptop?

I think instead of gray I might like to see more of a silver color. If you need to use gradients to achieve that effect go ahead.

Go crazy with the icon, it does not have to invoke thoughts of computers so much as high tech.

    Thanks!

Designers: We have reconsidered our position on gradients and would like to see some logos that incorporate them. Please also feel free to exercise some creative license on the colors although blue must be prominent. Thanks!
