Competing Opinions is a blog by Medicine in Practice, Inc. focused on "conflict of interest" in medical research and publication. Medical conflict of interest is a very hot topic, and of course there are many sides to the issue, hence the name.

The blog website is not yet active, but will be created shortly. It will be closely related to the www.MedicineInPractice.com corporate site, as well as to other products (see related brief for "Tip Top Titles" product logo).

While primarily designed for web viewing, the logo needs to work in print and possibly other materials. Some guidelines are:
- clean, clear, and easy to read
- works in color and in b&w as well as reversed out of color
- MUST fit within a 200-250px wide by 50-75px high space
- ideally should have dimensionality
- text can (should) wrap onto two lines
- generally prefer icon at left with text on two lines to right
- icon MUST be sufficiently distinctive to stand alone, e.g. as favicon or other small logo use
- the theme of the blog is "CONFLICT" among professionals as to how much is enough (disclosure) vs. too much! This is hotly debated by purists and other more relaxed researchers! This should drive the choice of icon - think opposite pointing arrows, anything CONFLICT/DISAGREEMENT but "nice!"
