I'm a photographer evolving from amateur to semi-professional. I'm just starting to establish a web presence for my work, including a blog and an ecommerce site for my prints. [This is very much a work in progress and I can envision some other opportunities for additional creative work (for example a wordpress template) down the line. For now I'd like to start with a basic logo.] I shoot a wide variety of subjects, but primarily candid portrait photography, landscapes, and travel. |

My initial thought is that one of the colors should be white (or light gray, light blue, etc). The second "pop" color might be one of the following: - steel blue/gray - dark red/wine - dark orange/"rust" Tend to prefer toned down shades and not very bright/saturated ... but quite open to creative ideas here. |

I'd like the abstract mark to be clean and capable of working as a smaller icon / favicon as well. Very open to creativity around the mark. My ideal would be a unique mark that "hints" at photography, design, etc. but without being too common, derivative (unfortunately there are far too many obvious iconic interpretations of cameras and lenses... but I'm very open to new ideas and also open to abstractions of these or other similar concepts, perhaps the letter "H" somehow, etc.). I'm also fine with a purely abstract mark if it works visually. It's important to note how I need to be able to use this logo: 1. banner image for my blog and ecommerce sites 2. watermark on the actual images themselves Therefore I'll need something in a scalable/vector format that works in any size, and also works as a transparent image (for the watermark). The websites may have either a black or a white background. I don't have my own site up yet, but I've listed below a handful of sites and logos that are representative of the style I'm looking for. Again I'm certainly open to creativity, but this is the general design esthetic I like. - http://www.robertcaplin.com/ - http://archive.thomaslee.us/ - http://www.amypeckportfolio.com/ - http://www.liaballentine.com/ |
