#24 - I LOVE IT! At first I thought I kinda missed the orange cat, but the more I look at it, the more I like it the way it is. The only thing that really doesn't look quite right, are the scratches. Maybe if you darkened the frame back up (it looks darker than #22 and #23, but not as dark as it had been in say, #20) and made the scratches more along the lingoes of the lighter tan color they might have enough contrast to show up but not look quite as odd as the white scratches? They may not show up quite as well, but would look more real, I think?? And I'm not sure if this would make a difference or not, but was thinking maybe make the scratches not quite so even - maybe skip one, start one late, or something like that - might be worse that way, I don't know. Again, great work! Now if I could just think of a good "tag line" that wasn't corny.......
#18#19#20 - I really like all of your revisions! I do think I like 19 better than 18 and 20 better than 19, although that was a more difficult decision. With regards to #20, what about adding a second kitten in there on the right, maybe with the bandage in his mouth (maybe not?), falling off/hanging on the edge of the sign with claw marks on the wooden frame of the sign. It almost looks like the existing kitten is starting to slide down the slope of the tilted sign and has gotten into that flattened "oh crap" stance. You could do the second kitten in gray w/black stripes similar to what you did with the orange, maybe? Again, great work, keep them coming! (I also like your comments/explanations with your design submissions).
#15#16#17 - Good Corporate type logos, but not what I am after. I'm looking for something more fun/humorous that reminds people of their own pets. Out of the 3, I like #15 the best!
#14 - The animals are not bad, but I'm not really sure I "get" them playing chess? I'd much rather see them doing something mischievious that you could picture your own cat/dog doing. I'm not really against them doing something that a cat/dog couldn't really do as long as it's funny. Don't really like the font a whole lot, but do like the added on/hanging "DVM" although it could probably stand to be a bit larger. Don't hate the color, don't' love it - kinda leaves me wondering what some other colors would look like. Good effort, thanks for you submission.
#9 - Great job on edits. I like where you are going with this design. I think the cat looks much better and the dog definitely has a "what the......." look on face. I'm not sure I like the blue "vet wrap," though. Maybe white didn't show up well, but I'd like to see. Blue eyes on feline indicating kitten - clever - helps explain the playfulness. Like that the kitten is wrapped up in bandage. In looking at the sign I kinda like the hanger and the fact that it's tipped, BUT, would like to see an obvious reason for it to be tipped. Maybe another kitten on ground sharpening claws on that side - OR - one ON the sign on that side. I don't dislike the font, but think I liked the font in #7 better. Also in regards to #9 the size of the sign seems too small to me. I'm not sure if there is a way to make it bigger without overcrowding everything? Maybe shrinking down the animals a bit, or do you lose too much of the detail? Sharl, I think you understand animals and also have an idea what I am trying to convey. Feel free to throw something out there that is a total deviation from what I have suggested if you like.
Out of curiosity, can the designers see each others designs? I'm not sure if my comments on one help another or not? For instance, #10#11#12#13 way off base. Sorry...... Thanks for the effort, though!
#2#3#4 - There is something about the cat and dog that I don't like. I can't quite put words to why, though. They just seem a little too Looney Tunes/Hanna Barbera ish if that makes any sense??? I also don't want any other animals present, such as the bird in #2 and #3 because I don't want people to think that I treat birds. I do like that the cat is making the gesture over the dogs head (humor) although it took me a minute to realize what I was actually seeing!
#7 - I like the detail on the GSD........BUT...... he/she looks a little sad to me. I think shocked/surprised might be a better look. Also, a minor point, the cat/kitten doesn't seem to be to the same level of detail as the GSD......kinda like the GSD is a portrait and the cat is a caricature - granted the cat is much smaller and there is less room for detail - maybe more detail is not practical? I like the sign and the font and even the way the shading highlights my last name (intentional?). I DO think the dog looks out of place ON the sign, though, but not sure how best to place? Great work......keep them coming (I missed your first one).
