Draft #84, I know there is not much room on the headstock of the guitar but it might be interesting to have "Stratcat.biz" in a font that looks similar to how Fender does theirs and in the same location. Just a thought....
I just noticed in draft #78 you had slightly darkened the "Custom Guitar Works" to a darker yellow/orange, it was better as it was in draft #54.
I realize this lighter shade of yellow may not work as well with the white background as in number #79, but for the web site image with the black background the "Custom Guitar Works" should be the same color as it was in draft #54.
In reference to my last comment just below for Drafts #78 and #79; The last sentence of that post was contradictory to what was said before.
Bottom line is that with drafts #78 and #79 I have decided it is best to have the word "OverDrive" in two colors with "Over" in the SILVER and "Drive" in RED. It just works better with the web site style.
Sorry for the confusion in the previous post. Thats what happens when you overthink things....
I feel that your drafts #78 and #79 are the best so far, but after considering having the word "OverDrive" in all one silver color or "Over" in silver and "Drive" in red I have chosen to have the "Drive" in red as previous, I think it works best with the web site theme. Use the same styleing, just change the color of "Over".
sadeka, the imagery your drafts is just too vague with only the slight and partial outline of the guitar, we are looking for more definitive imagery with our logo.
validesign, drafts #53#55 will work well with a black background such as with the web site, but need a counterpart that will work with a white background such as email footers, printed invoices, etc... I've tried these with a white background and they just do not have the same impact as with the black background.
I like both drafts #53 and #55, not quite sure if I like the two-color "OverDrive" or the single-color, but would like to see the head stock of the guitar in a natural wood appearance, more realistic, the tuners should appear as a chrome and if the bridge of the guitar can be a bit more realistic.
From this point forward it has been determined that the tag line "Where Custom Begins With You..." does not have to be part of the logo. With the space constraints of the web site this tag line takes up space that forces the remainder of the logo to be rendered smaller.
Draft #44 it would be nice if there was just a small amount more of the guitar body, not a lot just a little and also to show a small portion of the 3 pickups that would normally be installed in a typical Strat. Does not have to show a lot of the pickups, but it would be nice to at least see that they are part of the guitar.
Draft #44. Can you add the rest of the other 4 guitar strings on the head-stock? Also remove the "Where Custom Begins With You...", I kind of like the way this logo will appear on the web site without that tag line, besides it could be added elsewhere on the header of the web site, but for the logo itself I think its better without it.
Also try the BankGothic MD font for "OverDrive" with the "O" and "D" being larger. And see how it looks with a smaller white boarder around "OverDrive".
Draft #51, now there are no spaces in-between each of the words in "Where Custom Begins With You...". The words need to be spaced apart normally. It was the individual characters that were too far spaced apart before. Try making the "W" in "Where" begin under the "S" in "Custom" and center it accordingly. Of course the font may need to be just a little larger.
Also make a variation of this same logo that will work well on a printed white background such as invoices.
Draft #50, I'm unsure as to what the image is in the background, but it reminds me too much of a sickle and something more appropriate to the business would be in order. The "Where Custom Begins With You..." is to large in relation to the rest of the logo and spacing inbetween the individual letters of that phrase would be better if they were just a little smaller.
Draft #41, the guitar in the design is too sketched in appearance, would need to be more realistic in design. "OverDrive" is one word and by having the guitar in-between "Over" and "Drive" makes it appear as two words. But in our name design the "O" and "D" are both capitalized but its still all one word. The separate colors of the word is interesting but would also like to see variants with same color.
Draft #45, can you change the font of "OverDrive" to the BankGothic MD font and make it all one color, like a deep red. Also the wide yellow boarder you have around and on the inside of the lettering of "Overdrive" might be better off much thinnner and not yellow, maybe white.
Draft #38, the "Where Custom Begins With You..." is to bold of a font and looks to fuzzy. use the same font as "Custom Guitar Works" and apply the same bevel and emboss to the characters but not to dramitic.
Draft #38, the red is too pinkish in color and the bevel and embos you have coming from the direct left, it should come from the upper left same as the drop shadow and the drop shadow is too subtle, almost unseen.
The previous message should of read... "Same with draft #34, "OverDrive", does not need to in the design twice on the right side where the tuning keys should be."
Draft #35, I would like to see the tuning keys back on the head stock on the right side of the image instead of word "OverDrive", it does not need to in the design twice.
edeleni, draft #31 make all the letters in the "Custom Guitar Works" in upper case, you currently have only the "i" in guitar in lower case. Also include the tuner shafts on the neck head stock like you had in previous versions. Also include the quote, "Where Custom Begins With You..."
Try something with the name "OverDrive" to make the lettering have more dimension, they look flat.
Draft #33 needs a thin black line around the wording "custom guitar works" so it stands out in relief with the white/gray background and not the white line as in the word "OverDrive". The white line around the word "OverDrive" is fine. Each of the words needs to have a "Drop Shadow" with the light coming from upper left and the shadow droping to the lower right, subtle effect, not dramatic. Also each of the words needs to have them beveled and embossed to make them appear 3D or to have some body to them and not look flat.
The "Where Custom Begins With You..." does not need to have any extra characteristics other than beveled and embossed. The Bevel and Emboss is a Photoshop term used in the Layer Style, Blending Options where you have lots of styling options.
The gray backgound on the left and right edges is a little too dark, not much but just a little and appropriately lighten the middle light grey to a ligher grey closer to white, not pure white but you can see how they overall darkening is not allowing the design to snap or pop with brilliance.

Also make a variation of this same logo that will work well on a printed white background such as invoices.
