guys there is nothing to argue about..its just like 2 vendor of special ramen..but only the project holders choses what best suits his taste... :D I don't know the both of you but let's just put it that way.
It's so obvious that the design of max51 is a copycat of cracuz design...not creative at all...this should not be tolerated we must be professional enough ...
You may not see how he/she copied but we do, just because you refereed to pixels ,we still respect each other based on placement of pixels and concept etc ... max51 placed the pixels in the same position as cracuz09 ... anyway pity you dont see it that way
As for copying, I really don't see how he copied anyone any more than anyone else did. He's got a font, with colored pixels, which is what I asked for in the design doc. he came up with the concept of overlapping the pixels and cross-fading the colors, and in the end that's what did it for me. Nobody else had that idea before he did.
I'm very grateful for all of the submissions and hard work everyone did. I'm very happy with what we've got. Sorry to those that didn't win.
Couple quick thoughts.
.01. I'm not married to blue! I'd still like to see some designs not in blue.
1. We're not crazy about a lot of the Orange going on. We think it works as an accent color combined with other colors like in #37, but I don't think a design with blue and just orange will win. Same with Green. I like it in combination with other colors, but not with just blue and green together.
Here's some feedback:
#177 looks really nice, but there's something a touch plain about it. I like the lettering, the shape etc...
#164, #162 both are proportioned really nicely, but again maybe a something just a touch plain about it, it maybe be that two tone color thing going on.
#181, #183 are nice, I'm not sure the pixels look quite right coming out of the circles, and I'm not sure the circles are exactly right, but the idea of something coming out there is good and I like the lettering.
#184, I like the little graphic, not sure about the font and the proportion of the size and where the graphic is placed. #182 is nice as well, but I think the ball is too big, and I'm not sure the ball is quite the right thing, but it looks cool.
I like the idea, be it in #37 or some of the other submissions, of having a graphic (the pixels in #37) as kind of an iconic graphic that we can stick on our website for the graphic by the web address on the browser, or as a sticker we can put on all of our shipments.
#37 is probably still in the lead, but again, I'm worried that the graphic sticks up too high. I'd still like to see it reworked a bit with the colors just a touch different in the pixels.
One more note, notice that we are gravitating toward and abstract pixel design, and that most designs with even pixelated things are being eliminated fairly quickly.
I'm blown away with the great designs! Thanks for the hard work.
Right now #37 is still our favorite. Our main concern with that and other designs is that they may be too tall, and when we put it in a banner ad or shrink it to fit our sign on our building, it may make the PIXEL Pro Audio wording too small. We'd also love to see people try different colors.
#137, #136, and #95 have a lot of promise. On 137/136 I don't like how the Pro Audio is, it would disappear in a banner ad. I like the shape and the look of the logo though.
We still do NOT like Grey. Any design with Grey in it is not going to be picked. We also generally don't like it when the logo has the letters pixelated.
Here's basically where we are at in terms of my rating scale.
5 Stars = In contention to win (please try a few other options, if I see something perfect I'll end this early)
4 Stars = A design we like, but needs some work.
3 Stars = A design that has potential, but has a flaw significant enough that we'll eliminate it soon.
1-2 Stars = Not a design concept we're interested in. We usually eliminate these quickly so as not to waste your time and to keep the designs with potential on top.
Again, thank you all so much for the design work. There's not bad designs, just designs that don't quite fit the image we're going for. We plan to do a lot of advertising in magazines, on the web, and our logo will be a big part of that, so getting right is very important to us. Thanks
Thanks again for the great designs. Some of them that we cut we're excellent deigns, just not quite what we are looking for. #37 is our favorite at this point. If we go with that style, we will be using ace designs work. We're still totally open to other designs, so if you're still working on designs, please try different fonts and ideas than 37 that are barking up a different tree.
Thanks so much for the hard work. There's a lot of talented designers on here!
Thanks for the awesome submissions! I think I'd like to stay away from grey. Number 10 is my favorite so far. Not sure the font is right though, but I definitely like the softer friendly look.
Don't feel limited to blue. I like the blue, but I'd love to see some variations on it.
