The product is a draught excluder for chimneys. It is a disc of felted sheep wool on a handle. It is inserted into the narrow part of the chimney flu just above the fireplace, when the fire is out. It prevents all the warm air from the central heating from being sucked up the chimney. It also prevents cold air from being drawn in from gaps in doors and windows as the air replaces what escapes up the chimney (average 40 cubic metres per hour). It also prevents draughts and wind from blowing down the chimney. |
