#57: We want you to change the font to red instead of orange. Also I'd like to see it with no MM on top. Make the car be red as well. Tune please, this is nice.
#72: Don't lose the detail that was in the pulse that I posted (look closely at the line). Give me a base case with a weathered font only (like the one I posted).

Dear Designers,
There's been some really creative ideas out there--great job! But we're nearing the end of the contest so it's time to start narrowing things down.
The most design that spoke to me was actually a mix of more than one design. I took the double M in #14 and I saw that I could change it to look like a pulse, then I took the font in #40 and put it in the center. I came up with this in the office (sorry for the quality, I only had MSPaint!):
I want this logo refined. I would like better contrast on the font, sharper pulse lines instead of my mess-ups; an overall clean up. We'll call this the base case. The other scenarios will build on this. This needs to be a separate design, as it might be the one we like the most. Make sure there's a black background version with white text in front as well.
In addition to the base case, I'd like someone to try a different font or play with the pulse a bit. (Maybe the font in #57). An aggressive font would work the best here.
A third scenario also I would like to try adding a subtle gear instead of the second O in Motor, and a wrench in the I in motives, or maybe the tip of the V can look like a wrench in Motives, the e could look like a turbine if flipped upside down. I want subtle tool additions like a gear, a wrench, and maybe a turbine for the O or e in Motives. I want them to be the same as the text color, which is black. Remember, I like subtle, simple design without overcrowding things. So keep the additional elements spread out from each other please.
Let's see where this takes us. I think we're getting somewhere!

I am reposting all the feedback in one place(here) for simplicity's sake:
#1: Try to incorporate more than just text in your logo. I like where the font is going but tweak it a bit more, make it look less cookie-cutter please.
#2: I like the creative initiative with the geared-M but it looks too much like Mopar--don't want to get in trouble with them! Try to deviate from gears as they're overused, unless it's an unthought of design.
#5: I think you were the first to incorporate a car's silhouette into the design. Capitalize on that thought and tweak both text and silhouette better.
#11: Could you play with the O's and make them look less like owl eyes? Tinker the silhouette a bit more and try to get the lower text to flow better with the top text please.
#13: I like the simplicity, however you need to make the text less generic. Keep on going where you're going with the logo, you might on to something such as a different "gear" design than what everyone uses.
#14: Let's take the red line with the double M's and make it look more like a pulse with the ends raised some, but still looking like a double M. Then see if you can experiment with overlaying the text in the center, then scale all to fit. You might have to lose the red on the motives for it to work. Also, make font less universal. Good job on the double M idea by the way, keep doing what you're doing.
#16: I'd like it to look less like Mega Man whenever I look at it. See if you can revamp this and lose the Word Art feel to it. Add your touch as well, think mid to high clientele base!
#17: Good effort on the creativity, but we're trying to deviate from the 90's CAD age/Solid Works design. If you'd like to go that route, try a blueprint/sketch themed logo with a twist to it. Since we will be doing metal fabrication and lots of custom work. This might come out good!
#18: Start with the black background design and make Motor bold as well, and maybe white. It took me two days to find out that that screwdriver is not a fork by the way ... So I'd like you to overhaul the abstract shape and come up with something fresh. Experiment with the color red subtly if you can please
#20: Let's see if we can make the car's silhouette with a lower roof line and have a more proportional posture. Also see if you can come up with a less generic font, add your own touch to it. Bottom right is going in the right direction I think: simple/elegant. Make your logo say "this is it!" when you look at it.
#23: Try it with little to no glare/gradient or 3D effect. More elegant/line type. Also please change the font to something fresh yet still simple/contemporary.

Can we also have someone take a stab at a design like this?
I'm a big fan of the above design if properly executed.
So far I'm liking the car silhouette idea if refined, the pulse design, still longing for a creative way to incorporate something abstract (a gear if done well, though its becoming played out), maybe a blueprint/sketch-esque design, and of course an elegant simple autograph type or modern design.
Go for it, designers! You are doing well!

I added specific feedback on almost every design individually. For the aspiring designer: Look at your counterpart's feedback to get the general theme and to mix/match ideas together.

One thing we forgot to add to the brief: While we would like the logo to be similar to our description in the brief, we encourage (and don't mind at all) fresh, new ideas that deviate completely from it. So go wild! If you can come up with something better than we tried to describe, you might be the winner.
