#92 - Stick with this idea, but take out the life preserver logo, leaving the text like it is. And include some monochrome shirt-formatted versions.

#98 - I like this look, but it would be more appropriate for us if we were an anti-virus or security company. It looks really good though - but doesn't really represent our company.

#90 - I like how in #93, you have the arm of the hard drive along with the platter. Would it be possible to have something similar to #90 where the "cut" in the circle makes that A, perhaps, and then leave out the Texas Star?

Also, don't need gradients on the disc part. :-)

#55 - I'd like to see some variations on this design - remove the Cog picture, but keep the dot of the "i" the way it is.

#61 - can you make the top logo different, maybe rounder, or a different shape all together. I like the text part of it a lot.

ALL - I'd like to see some logos that show the Company Initials (ADR)

When people see the logo design, I need the company name to jump out at them. Some of the designs, if you were to put them onto a T-Shirt, for example, just show AUSTIN with tiny letters saying Data Rescue, meaning people will only see the word "Austin."

For any new designs, or for those of you who'd like your ideas to win, please upload a design that shows the Main logo - like what would be on a web page or stationery, etc., along with monochrome screens without fades, that would be on a shirt, stickers, etc. See #62, #79 for examples of what I mean. It's totally okay if the formatting changes between the color version and the monochrome one (like in #13).

    THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

#76, #77 - Those stars are exactly right! Anyone able to make one or more of the letters / logo look like data, like a hard drive, or like something showing the kind of work we do?

@gividesign - Thank you very much. This is exactly why I want to have something besides just the "fancy A" for the logo.

As for stars, the starts in #69 and #70 look like Texas stars - although the division between White and Red should be a horizontal line. So I'm not looking for something specifically like the contest you mentioned.

However, I see this project going that direction with all the swoops on A's, which will likely influence my decision, and is why I'm looking for something that symbolizes what our company does (recover data from hard drives).

hello sir, just a suggestion if you are directing us to it, you should see the contest that had already been this ...

#67, #68 - Interesting. I'm curious to see if anyone includes a "Texas Star" (Red White Blue) inside their design.

Others - I will be posting more reviews tonight or early tomorrow. Keep the new, fresh ideas coming! :-) Great work!

Great entries people! I'm really in awe of your abilities!!

I've been saying that I'm in Texas, but that probably doesn't mean much for "y'all" who live in other places. Here are some things I'd like you to look at, look-wise.

Austin (my town) is the Capital of the State of Texas. This area uses Stars a lot ("lone star state") Because I'm in the Capital, I'd really like to see a design that looks "official" like a monogram, seal, etc. We are using the name "Austin" Data Rescue because we want to be THE data rescue company for this area.

I'm a member of this organization - here's their logo. Notice the star with the Texas Flag inside: http://evbdn.eventbrite.com/s3-s3/eventlogos/678444/300653262-5.gif

That's just one example. I think seals (monogram seals - not the animal) are really neato. Of course, I don't want you to copy that idea. Do a Google Images search for Texas Star and you'll see what I mean.

    http://www.siteadmincp.com/sites/site296/site_images/header-centex-dental-lab-225-001.jpg

Again, I don't want you to copy these, but that look is used fairly often around here, so it's familiar. If you modified that in a unique way that represents what my company does, it could be very interesting and show that we're local.

    Just some thoughts!

ALL - I like the fancy A's, but I'm getting burned out here! I'd really be interested in seeing something different - something that symbolizes the work we do, uses some different colors, etc.

Also, the winner will most likely be someone who has a colorful, 3d type logo as the "main" logo, and then a monochrome square-framed logo that can be used on shirts, etc. For example, #25, #13, #43.

#33 #38 thank you for adding MORE color!
#34 thank you for doing something that break the mold of the others.

#43 - would it be possible for the swoop to break up into particles as it rounds the curve?

#44 - I see where you're going with this. The 1's and 0's could blue instead of blocks with white numbers.

I'm REALLY looking for something that has appropriate symbolism - remember, we rescue data for people. We restore data that was lost, etc. We primarily work on Hard Drives, so something that looks like a hard drive or digital medium would be great.

ALSO - I'm really looking forward to someone uploading an actual standalone logo using all of the symbolism and information I gave you, rather than simply fancy A's.

Over the next day or so, we'll start narrowing these down. It's anyone's game at this point, and if we see someone submit a totally new idea that shows symbolism and blows our mind, that just might be the winner!

Thanks all. You guys are great!

#31 looks almost exactly like the logo for Academy (see previous comments)

ALL - PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS! :-)

No more circles around A's for now (See July 23 Comment).

And don't feel like you have to use only Blue / Grey. Upload something radically different than what you've seen here so far - let your creative juices flow!! :-)

ALL - some of the A's with Circles are starting to look too much like the logo for Academy Sports (http://www.dicentral.com/academy_edi/images/academy_edi-edi.gif) - a chain sporting goods store with several locations here in Austin.

#20, #21 - Interesting concept. Perhaps more dramatic "broken elements" converging onto a whole, to represent rebuilding of data?

    Maybe some binary (1010101)?

Maybe a hard drive being "restored" graphically this way?

Do you guys have any questions for ME?

These are all great. I see that we're fine-tuning a concept, but I would like to see some other ideas as well.

I would like to see some submissions that are RADICALLY DIFFERENT than the ones submitted, perhaps something without the "fancy A" concept with some other imagery instead.

Here are some ideas for iconography: We are in Texas. We deal with data, with computers, with hard drives. Also think about concepts like recovery, rescue, going back in time, digging deep to find information, etc.

Thank you all. Great work so far.

#10 - lucifer , any chance of the circle going behind the A at some point? :-)

#8 Interesting - seeing the whole circle kinda makes me think of the platters inside a hard drive.

#4 djormani - Let's leave out the grey badge and keep the main and the top-right. Can we see an all-caps version?

ALL - I like the idea of a full-color version for the landscape version, and then a more square, flat version that would look good on stationery or a shirt.

#5 nhormart - there's a readability issue with the yellow / white combination

  • 21 juillet 2011 09:33 radixtx
    Porteur du Projet

#1 - I like the basics of this design. For example, the angles in the top of the "t" in Austin being carried through the "i" and "n."

#2 - of all three of your designs, irull, I like this one the best.

#4 - Could I like the Large and Small caps fonts like the one you used for the word "rescue." Could you upload one with the word "data" also in that font? Also, there isn't enough contrast in the grey badge. I'm curious to see what you and others come up with as far as having a landscape and badge version of the design as you did.

ALL - Please do NOT feel limited by the colors given. For example, I gave the BackTrack site as an example, and they use a deep red. As you could see in #4, sticking to grey / blue might cause issues with readability.

Something I'm generally worried about is that the Fancy A idea isn't unique enough to constitute a unique brand-able logo for the company. You know - something that could stand on its own, separated from the name. I've seen other projects on this site where logo or graphical elements are built into the name itself. I'd like to see something like that submitted.

    Thanks guys! Great work!

Designers - one thing to possibly help is Data Recovery companies sometimes have a circular element to them. Restoring data is like going back in time, returning to something as it was before.

    Just something to chew on.
