Since the preferred font type for this project has pretty much been determined and the type design is pretty straightforward the contest looks like it's going to hinge on the logo graphic.
#43 is very strong in this respect, even managed to work an aperture into the design that is the first logo I've seen in which using that as a design element
actually works well, and the "green" aspect it conveys is true to the images and my overall business and life philosophy. "Pops" on a white or black background, with color or just B&W. Very nice indeed.
#45 is also a strong design; simple, classy and elegant. I'm going to have to take a day to mull that one over as it's not at all what I had envisioned (particularly the color scheme which nonetheless seems to work well with this design); it does convey "high-end", style and has a nice smooth-but-not-too-slick feel to it. Might be more representative of a studio or portrait photographer as opposed to an outdoor, nature photographer though... Hmmm.

Thanks to everyone for all the submissions and the time spent on each and every one... I appreciate the effort even if your submission has been eliminated or is not selected as the finalist! There's a lot of talent out there...!

I do prefer the font type used in #13 & #14 and find the "CB" graphic using upper case in #17 more appealing than versions in lower case.

Great start for first submissions... thanks for all the work. Some observations and suggestions:
Overall I definately prefer the simplicity of #10 and #2 and the latter has the kind of "snap" and visual appeal I'm looking for in both the overall design and the logo.
FONT: Again fonts in #2 and #10 are working well, particularly using the lighter-weight font for "photography" in contrast with the larger-sized/heavier fonts used in the name. Yet, I seem to be drawn to the font used in #9 (although it would be nice to see a similar font with a little more "heft" to it; narrow portions of the letters do seem to get a bit lost in the background). Would like to see whether a font change would make a big difference in the overall feel of the designs. Like both versions of the "photography" in #10 and #2, both stretched full length as well as "squeezed" with light accents as in #10.
COLOR: Although #2 really seems to "pop", I feel like there might still be too much red; christopher briggs in white/black and photography in red might do the trick. The blue version is nice but the gradations on the fonts, fading to dark at the bottom, seem to get lost on a black background; would love to see updated version of the blue without the gradations and with the adjustments recommended here.
LOGO: #2 is simple and I like the way it translates well on both black and white backgrounds but would like to see the "c" moved a bit up/right (2 o'clock) so it is overlapping the "b" more and we loose the "split-cherry" look and becomes a little more vertical. Perhaps the same treatment on the blue logo (it's pretty cool) would be closer to what I'm looking for in a "high-tech" version. For #9 and #10, the incorporation of the aperture in the design is appreciated but too "slick" for me and isn't what I'm looking for.
DESIGN: Again #2, particularly the bottom versions, is the closest of the submissions to what I am looking for in terms of its linear design. As mentioned in the brief for this project I'd like to see versions of all designs with christopher briggs and photography stacked three-high (as in submission #1), with christopher and photography in red or blue and briggs big and in white.

Hope these suggestions are not too confusing and are more of a help than a hindrance. If I have confused you or you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!

If you'll cut and paste the web site address into your browser they should come up; I double-checked them just now and didn't have any problems...
