It is a Restaurant that will be name after a person named Claudia.It will focus on freshness, contemporary Fresh Mexican food. Claudia's history: I was born in Monterrey Mexico; I have a sister and two brothers. We were a very close family; there was always lot of people visiting my house. Something always seemed to be cooking our kitchen no matter the time of day as it was the main hub in our home! During the school year we were dismissed from school for lunch and my Dad came home from work to have lunch with us at 1:00 PM everyday. We lived across the street from a Tortilleria factory. The owners of the Tortilla factory were out next door neighbors and their Tortilleria was across the street from my house! So one of us kids would walk across the street everyday before lunch and stand in long lines to pick up fresh Tortilla’s. So we grew up eating freshly made tortillas every day for lunch. Some of my fundest memories of Mexico are when family and friends gathered together where we would enjoy a lot of laughs and enjoy some great food! When I reminisce about the home I grew up in I can still envision my mom cooking up my favorite meals and I can still smell the aroma of peppers and tomatoes simmering on the stove that she used to make fresh salsas. My dad was the king of cooking up some great food outside on the grill on the weekends. I remember my dad's soon to famous Chili rubbed Rotisserie Chicken that he cooked over an open fire. My dad makes the most delicious Salsas and Frijoles as they are both out of this world! My father’s passion is to cook and serve people. I’ll never forget when we’d go to my Grandmas house for dinner. She always made fresh flour tortillas. When she finished hand rolling the tortillas she’d heat up a pan and begin to cook the Tortilla’s. Right when they were ready she’d take a Tortilla from the pan and would toss them at one of us grandchildren and we would catch one and add some butter while they were still hot! I also remember always having fresh fruit at home such as Mango, Jicama, Papaya, Strawberries, Peaches, Guayava and Banana’s. The passion that my family had for food and the passion and enjoyment they got out of serving it and sharing it with friends and family are still a core value for me today. |
