I'm looking for something clean, unique, and not cartoony. A lot of designs have figures or other aspects that look almost funny.

Lettering that clearly marks out "GetGeek" (.org, if possible) and a design that is clearly recognizable even at some distance is best.

As for color; even if you use only shades of only blue it's fine; the design itself must be the focus. Clean, sophisticated, and "trustworthy," if that's even designable.

    Good luck!

I just want to thank you all for your continued GREAT submissions! I am far from deciding a winner, since every time I think I found one someone with a great design comes in and turns my expectations upside down. My business has been taking off this week, and I've bee on the go almost all the time. I promise to give you all individual feedback as soon as I have a moment!

Designers: Thank you for all your hard work! Some comments:

*Please* take a look at the logos I already posted on here. They generally share a theme of being (what I would describe as) straight, sophisticated, and clean.

I would like for you to incorporate the ideas of my business a bit more. One prominent submission cleverly uses a laptop and a little car in the design.

Finally, I think I've found a website model that I will use from this point on. Please use that as a reference for your designs. Logos that look awkward or out of character with the layout probably wont work too well.

    Thanks again!

I've found that designs using any combination of blue, black, white, or/and yellow and any shades thereof seem to work better for my project.

It looks a little more tech-y. Yup.

I'm loving these designs! A few things now that I've seen what you guy can do:

    1. While the logo should absolutely use color, I would like to have a version of your design that looks well in black and white as well. Color ink is expensive...

    2. Can you find some way to incorporate ".org" in the design? If it lowers quality, this is not a requirement, just an idea.

    3. I would like to try out a few iconic designs incorporated with the logo. Sometimes I might not be able to use the full name and just need a picture. Note that this is totally secondary; I mainly need a logo that uses my name and preferably an appropriate tagline.

I also want to give you all a selection of logo's that I really like to give you an idea what to go for.

[I love the use of colors, multiple contrast options, and the creativity involved in the leaf motif.)

(The modern, minimalist look, while still conveying the industry and sophistication of the company.)

(The subtle use of the leaf to top the I was really what made this stand out to me)

(A memorable icon that ties in well with the rest of the logo)

When I come across more that I really like, I'll post them here. I've been really enjoying looking at all of the amazing work posted on this site!

Thanks for all the good work so far. Keep it up!

I sent you a response on there. I just learned that the comments on individual entries vanish once I eliminate them, so from now on I'll send you all private messages when I have a comment on your particular entry.

My focus is on giving clients one-on-one in-home serive for a very low cost ($35 per hour, no charges or travel costs). That's the big thing :)

While I do want it to be accessible to an older demographic, I would like it to be a modern design. Old bow ties and thick rimmed glasses as a logo is a little too old fashioned ;)

  • 1 mars 2012 22:06 PhotoSchaub

Not sure what sort of demographic you are targeting (if any), but what I remember from my days long ago as a Best Buy computer sales/tech guy in Toledo, people want "simple". Most of the customers I dealt with were less impressed with my technical knowledge than with my confidence to get the job done correctly. If you can get that message across, you should have it made.
    I wish you luck.
