    Designers,

I want to thank all of you for participating in my contest. Some of the logos that were submitted far exceeded my expectations! You have made the selection process VERY hard for me!

I just wanted to share how I see the selection period going. Tomorrow (here in the U.S.) I plan to unveil the contest. I really see no reason to keep it veiled now that the contest has ended. Then my wife and I will sit down and select the 10-12 that we like best. After that, we will bring our selections to our staff and some select customers of ours and then vote on the winning logo.

There might be a possibility that we open up the contest for an additional day or two so that the designers can make a basic revision (such as changing colors or fonts) as needed. This won't be a time for the selected designers to submit completely new designs (I just don't think it would fair to the others). If and when I open it back up again, I will veil the contest once more and I will contact each designer privately to request the revisions that we would like.

Again, this will be very hard for me as I have seen many great designs.

    With gratitude,
    Matt

If you plan to submit something with a gradient or drop shadow, please be sure to show me what it would look like without the gradients. I have no problem using something with a gradient for print, but it becomes a problem trying to replicate it when embroidered. So it will need to look good as a gradient and as a solid color.

Also, what I am looking for most is something clean, sophisticated, and elegant. Something that's memorable! Web 2.0 is okay as long as it can be embroidered.

And I'm really liking the designs that are coming in in a royal/darker blue. I'd like to see more of that.

Please PM me with any specific questions and I will try to respond that evening.

Thanks again for the amazing work!!

I've been extremely busy the last two days and haven't had a chance to make comments on submissions. I do plan to spend some time tomorrow going over them. I will say that there have been some VERY good submission the last few days!!

Also, please do not withdraw your work. Although I may have some comments on certain logos, there will be a whole group of us voting on the final selection and I may be outvoted.

#60 - I like the colors here. Is there something you can do with the person on top? I hate to be vague, but there's something that just isn't sitting right with me about it.

#63 - Again, I like the color. The person on top looks more to me like they are stretching before a dance or they are doing yoga. I'd like the person to look as though they've been in a great deal of pain for weeks or months and they were unable to move. Then, the person got physical therapy (from us) and they are now able to move and enjoy life like they haven't been able to do in a long time! I want them to look like they've been liberated from this pain and they have a feeling of empowerment!

I've studied your work and I know that you can capture this in a design.

#57 - I like the shade of blue and green that you've used here. But the design looks too much like a competitor's of ours. Can you please show me something with a more defined person? Also, please take the gradient out of the text.

#56 - Can I see this in a darker blue and also a darker grey?

#53 - I like the color and font style, I just don't like the triangle people in the design. Can you show me something else where you keep the font the same, but change the design?

#48 - this one is growing on me. Can you take most of the gradient out (it would be a nightmare to get embroidered) and some me some more color options with the person?

#44 and #45 - can I see both of these with the same colors that you used for design #13? I'd also like to see them with the same font and same color font from #13 as well

#38 - Can I see this where the body is more defined and less like an "X"? Also with the same colors that I suggested for #51.

#51 - This is my favorite of yours! I really like how symmetrical the person is. He's standing with his arms out and his palms almost facing up and it really shows relief (from pain), empowerment, and gratitude. Can you show me some more color options with without the orange. I'd like to see two-color options that use blue/black and blue/green.

#36 - I like the font and I like the overall shape of the design. But I'd rather see a person rather than a plant. Can you show me some options with a person there?

#35 - I like the serif font that you chose here and I think the text lines up nicely. Can you show me some options with a more defined person (body, arms, legs, and head). I think I'd like to shy away from the more abstract versions of a person. Also, I like the primary color to be a blue and the secondary color (if you choose to include one) should be a green and/or black.

#32 - I like this one a lot! My only issues are that the person is jumping and that the head seems too big and too round for the body. Can I see what the person would look like if their feet were on the ground and if their head was smaller? Also, can you show me this where you replace the orange with a green, and another where you replace the orange with black?

#29 - this is really starting to grow on me. I like the font and I like the circle, I'm just not sure I like the design inside the circle. Can you come up with some other designs based on the font, the color, and the size of the design next to the text?

#23 I really like the font here, but the design on top looks too much like water. There is a therapy within physical therapy called "aquatic therapy", but this is not something that we offer. Otherwise, it's a very nice design.

My favorite of yours is still #27 and I'd still like to see it in a blue.

After seeing several designs, I think I really like the blue/green combinations better than the blue/orange and the green/orange.

I got an email earlier today, asking me if I wanted to "veil" the contest. Would some of you feel better if I did that to protect your work?

#20, it's just a little to feminine. Can you make it more masculine? I've seen your profile and really enjoy your work. Please come back with something else

Just to repeat, the "BodyWise" is one word, so please don't separate it with a space or an illustration. I realize that the there are two capital letters in there, but that's just a style decision on our part.

Also, I want to make clear the requirements:
Logo must use no more than 2 colors, please use Pantone/PMS colors.

Logo must have no gradients, or drop shadows. Now I don't might slight gradients, but it can't be something dramatic where it will change everything when we go to get it embroidered.

Logo must translate well across medium, must be able to be embroidered, silk screened, and engraved.

@Sharpie, please see some of the suggestions that I've made to others. I'm glad that you stayed true to our name and kept it as one word with a capital "B" and a capital "W". Go back and reread the section on what I would like to communicate to our audience. I encourage you to keep trying and come back with something different.

I do like what a lot of you have done with the word "BodyWise" and making the "body" one color and the "wise" a different color. Those are #1, #6, #14, and #30

#1, can I see the blue in "wise" just a little darker? Also, the illustration is a little too big and it takes away from the text. And after going through so many other contests, I think I'd like to stay away from figures (people) with pointy limbs (arms and legs). Can I see a more rounded person?

#6, your figure looks too much like their doing a yoga pose and not as much like someone who just got physical therapy.

#14, I like the colors, I'm just not crazy about the bird and hand. Can you come up with a different illustration...perhaps a person with energy?

#30, instead of pointy figure that separates the "Body" and the "Wise", can I see you try to make a figure out of the "y" in "Body" with their arms raised? Also, try to stay away from the gradients, it makes it hard to get embroidered. And please replace the red with a blue.

Greetings designers!! First let me thank you for participating in my logo contest. I am blown away by some of the logos that I've seen so far.

The two that stand out for me right now are #13 and #27

#13, I really like the illustration and how the bright (but not too bright) colors contrast well against the font. I definitely get the feel that the woman inside the circle has the feeling of empowerment, liberation, and energy (which is what we'd like to communicate to our audience). Would it be possible to see what the logo looks like in a serif font? Also, one of my requests was that there were no gradients. I do like the gradient in this logo as it makes the figure pop out, but it will make it hard to replicate when we go to have it embroidered. I see no problem with a gradient on business cards and other hard copy materials though. So could you also show me a version of it without the gradient? Also, is this an original piece? I haven't seen it before, but I'd hate to find out that someone else has the same symbol after we've spend a great deal of money putting it on promotional materials.

#27, I really liked how you made the hands come together to form a body - a body with its arms raised! I'm not sure that I like the olive green as much as I'd like some other color like a dark blue. Is this an original piece?
