    Hello k2soft
It appears that you are no longer active on Mycroburt.com, and so I am left to use this public venue.

I am in the process of registering my logo as a copyrighted trademark and I need lots of specific information as to the exact font, font size of every word, and of course, the exact colours. Get back to me.

Lakshmiks, this is a public message, but it is meant for you personally. By now, you have seen that raindesign is one of the two winners. The other is k2soft. Now I want to tell you how difficult a decision this was for me. For a moment, I was very close to awarding 3 winners...with you being the third winner. But, alas, I cannot afford it. And so it breaks my heart to say to you that you did not win. You are SOooooo....talented. As far as winning contests are concerned, while going through many-many of the designer's portfolios during the last 10 days, I noticed one who had no contests won. And as of this moment, he has 4 contests won! And there is not the slightest amount of doubt that you will be in this category very-very soon. Best regards to you.

    Well I did submit 1... #287
Dear CH, I saw your comment only after posting the draft.
So that's it, & with all due respect, no more coming up...

Yes, I have extended the contest for another 3 days, but it's not what you think. After a very busy week, I have now narrowed it down to 4 designers. They are:

    raindesign, dwross, k2soft, and lakshmiks

And in keeping with that...I have a respectful request. From this point onward, I ask that no one else - other than those four designers named above - submit drafts.

I am making this request because I want to be fair and honest with all of you. At the same time your creative talents should be recognized, your feelings should also be a primary concern.

As well, from my end, I have so much invested in the back-and-forth exchange with these 4 designers, that to open-up new avenues of dialogue would be too taxing on me.

This is going to be an extremely difficult decision. In fact, so difficult that I have already contacted Mycroburst.com to see if they will allow me to award two winners - and they said yes, no problem. Again, no worries, BOTH winners will receive the full amount of $250.

The other reason why I extended the contest 3 days is as follows: Not only has the decision-making process become extremely difficult for me personally...I must, at some point get more logical. What I mean by that, is I am going to ask many-many of my friends, neighbors and workmates to give me input. And that includes bringing-in equal amounts of gender and age groups. After-all, it would be quite foolish of me to have gone all through this process and allow the decision to be made by only one person: me...and have that be a flawed decision.

So by leaving this up on Mycroburst.com website for another 3 days all my friends, family and workmates can easily access it.

So there you have it. Again, I respect all of you immensely for your talents. Don't give up. For those if you who have never won yet, please understand that you WILL win at some point. That first victory is almost always difficult. As we say back here in the States, "keep-on keeping-on". :)

Good news for the designers! Project Holder has extended the contest for 3 additional days. Thanks

Brilliant Terry. I am highly impressed with your message. Not often does a CH understand the feelings of a designer and give them and their designs the due respect. I wish the final 4 designers all the very best. God Bless.

    May the best Designer win.

All the best to you too Terry.

    Best Regards,
    FD

Hi! PH.. Just a request...Why don't you extend your time in selecting the winner after the contest end. Eliminate design which
You don't like and make a shortlist, not limiting The Number of Designer should submit their work coz they are
on the running. It's quite unfair coz most designers submit their proposal at nearly end of the contest.. Cheer!

I have a respectful request. From this point onward, I ask that no one else submit drafts, unless I am (or have been) in private contact with them on Mycroburst.com

Stated in no specific order, at this point I am only communicating with the following designers:

    raindesign, dwross, k2soft, and lakshmiks.

So why am I on the cusp of spending this extra money? For two reasons. First, I want the flexibility of having two logos depending upon which of the three products and services I sell. Second, I am SOooo... impressed with your talents. You work hard for your money and you deserve every bit you are questing for. Furthermore, on your end, the emotional ups & downs you must go through must be, at times, quite draining. In the end, which is very close to now, for those above-named 4 designers only, I am going to extend the contest for another 3 days. The major reason why I have decided to do this is NOT to play one designer off against another. That would not be nice. Besides, I would be violating my own statement about how the emotional roller-coaster must be very draining.

The main reason why I am going to extend this contest for 3 more days (only for those 4 designers already mentioned above) is this as follows. Not only has the decion-making process become extremely difficult for me personally...I must, at some point get more logical. What I mean by that, is I am going to ask many-many of my friends, neighbors and workmates to give me input. And that includes bringing-in equal amounts of gender and age groups. After-all, it would be quite foolish of me to have gone all through this process and allow the decision to be made by only one person: me...and have that be a flawed decision.

wow! this is going to be a difficult decision. It appears that I will extend the contest for 3 more days. As I look at the drafts from k2soft, raindesign and kewlibra, it looks like my original goal to keep it clean and simple will be met.

Dear TerryM, it(losing my comments or posts due to technical or connectivity issues) has happened to me many times on many sites, so now I always write my comments(long ones) in NOTEPAD & copy it to the comments box.
Anyway, you are providing great feedback.
    I'll post a draft asap.
    Thanks

Lots and lots of excellent work. Especially by raindesign, k2soft, dwross and kewlibra. However, we are still not there yet. As this heads into the final days, I can see this is going to be very tough to make a decision. Probably will extend the project an additional 3 days. Be back on line about 12 hours from now. T.M.

I am now realizing that I am conflicted in what I want. On a personal level, I'm casual and thus, I like many of these casual drafts. But I have to keep reminding myself of my professional intent. Hummmm...

For example, is there such as thing as as making the casal script to look a "bit" more serious without making it look like calligraphy?

Raindesign, I like your #19, except chop-off about 2/3 of that swirly stem at the beginning of the b. Like the colors too. It's looks happy.

k2soft, I like your #12 and #25. Like the drop shadow in the "become" and the ".net". Also like the gradient starting with the white-ish blue which then turns into the full blue. Can you try this gradient effect with the "you" and "are" as well? And can you make the background of the "you" bright lime green...and make the background behind the"are" bright orange too? As is, the color that is behind the "are" looks like a bad pear that's about to go rotten.

Also, can you guys and ladies mess around with some illumination?

That's it for now. I'm at work and my lunch is over. T.M.

raindesign and k2soft. I just finished a rather extensive commentary...only to find out that I just lost the entire thing. Therefore, it did not post. Sorry. Tomorrow (Tuesday) at this time. T.M.

Okay...here goes. Once again, because I am new to the process...as well as being early in the process, frankly I'm learning a lot. At this point it is my belief that I unintentionally constrained you very talented people with too many 'out of the gate' specs. So I'm pulling back on all of that.

Here are the new and general guidelines: From this point onward, the only thing I care about is that the logo conveys a professionality and seriousness of purpose, while at the same time portraying a positive feeling. Translation: feel totally free to use your imaginations, except this time, without any of my previous constraints. Feel free to use bright colors, (including red) drop shadows, bulbous letters with a sheen wave or shiny spots on the lettering, a stripe that goes through the entire logo, etc., etc. whatever else you have in your arsenal.

Still 6 days (more or less) to go, but my favorite(s) thus far are raindesign's #9 but without the star and k2soft's #10, but with the drop shadow of k2soft's #12. The fact that I like them both is an indicator that I'm not hard in the belief that it must be script or block letters.

Kebrra #14, I do like the layout, i.e., the fact that the word "become" sits atop the "who you are" - as well as the ovals around those words. The overall design, however, is too feminine. In addition to the femininity, try moving the "become" over to the left and then add the ".net" to the right of the "who you are" (while keeping the "who you are" in the same spot.

Vorstller and Aerey, you are obviously very talented, but for what I am looking for...it's just not there yet. Please keep submitting.

Hello raindesign, Looks like you uploaded numbers 8 and 9 while I was typing my previous response. So the same comments apply. Like the interspersing of the colors with the words in design #9. Usage of the star is too superficial...too glitzy. It sends the message of "order now, while supplies last".

  • 25 avril 2010 07:26 TerryM
    Porteur du Projet

Hello to vorstller and k2soft and again to Julaine. As the drafts begin to roll in, I am realizing that perhaps, I over-instructed. You guys are doing exactly what I suggested and then I come back and say ummm...probably not. So mia culpa. Let me pull back and say it's very okay to loosen up the design process. In addition to having added the word "modern" to the creative brief, let's add as well, the word "contemporary". Now, on to specifics.

Still very early in the process, but the design I like best thus far, is design #2 by k2soft. However, it's a bit too casual, even bordering on the comic side. However, I DO like the various color splashes emphasizing the "who you are" part of it. That's a nice touch.

The thing that I want to communicate in my logo is that I am a serious, professional business, but at the same time, with an uplifting tone. That is, with people's lives moving forward. So again, a serious and professional, yet happy and uplifting look. I hope that makes sense.

Vorstller, I'm going to eliminate numbers 4-5-6-7 for two reasons. The first is while I don't mind those characters above the words...in fact, I don't mind them at all...these particular ones are too "spiritual looking". The other reason I am going to eliminate 4-5-6-7 has to do with it (again)being my fault. Originally, when I said "clean and simple" in the creative brief, I did not realize how conservative, e.g. the straight and staid (up & down) letters would appear. So, all-in-all, I guess I did not realize that re: this project, I am a lot more liberal and open-minded than I thought I was. Translation: stylize and effectualize away. :)

Apologies to all designers because I'm new to this process. What I failed to say in the brief is that the category "modern" is quite okay too. And perhaps I over-communicated with the pale pastels. Julaine, those blues and greens can be more saturated. I really like how you interspersed the green and blue via staggering them via their use with every other word. Finally, I'm not exactly sure if that's a B up above. I think it is but I'm not sure if I like it. Keep-em coming.
