Everyone, I have made a decision. I appreciate all the efforts the you all provided to this project. This really came down to several designs and designers (including yours ChrisCarter - you made it an even more difficult decision) and a lot of consideration. I chose Kunza's design in the end after I saw the full header style he/she came up with. After consultation with my wife and some friends, I decided to go ahead and close the contest out a little early to not waste anyones time.
Thank you again for all of the efforts as this went from a feeble idea on my part to really creative and viable designs. I really liked the car/motorcycle design by sergiulazin, the camera looking like a car initially by danielwatson, and a follow up design by Adrial, and ChrisCarter's design made it difficult at the end with his design too.
I wasn't sure about the web address being the right one, but #100 is just a mocked website to show how the logo/colors will look like. Fonts/Words/Address can be changed as it's pretty flexible in that sense.
Hope you like it. Cheers!
1661Design #80: Interesting and creative. Couple of bits of feedback. The motorcycle looks a little off. I like the sport bike look, but its not quite right. The other thing is the font. Maybe something a bit more bold and somehow highlights the three different parts of AutoMotoMedia.
Ok, we're in the home stretch! I have elevated a few logos to 5 stars as representing the ones my wife, friends, and I seem to like best. I want to keep that list to 5 or less over the next day or so, but new entries can take a spot there.
Everyone: If you've got them, post them. :)
sergiulazin #73: I like the design, but a couple of things. How does it look with a brighter blue on the motorcycle part? How about with the car and the moto more of a bright red?
The other designs I'm not sure I have any constructive feedback.
Everyone: Do you like AutoMotoMedia or automotomedia? I'm struggling with that.
Adriel, I don't know how to improve on that design. Really nice.
Kunza, #63 is pretty great! What does it look like with less of a gap between the film strip and the words like your first design?
Danielwatson, can the graphic be bigger as it's hard to see the detail on my monitor? Reducing the gap between the camera and the letters would be helpful. I shot you a message with a couple of other details to keep this post a little shorter.
danielwatson #57: I really like that design! A couple of things...The lens, if it looks like a shutter, that would be better and possibly with/without the play symbol as a view?
Everyone: The common theme seems to be all lowercase automotomedia with the moto part different color. How does it look with AutoMotoMedia?
LiwaRaya #50: The gap between the auto and moto doesn't need to be there
InciseLogo #35: My wife pointed out to me that the car looks like its going in reverse. Maybe the top part of the car just needs to be reversed on the graphic?
kunza #34: My wife really likes the design. I do too...Only thing for me that is missing is reference to photo/video.
Thank you to everyone for the efforts so far. Amazing stuff.
Request to all, and I don't know how feasible this is, but it's something that dawned on me a little. This is a site for photographer/videographer and automotive/motorcycle enthusiasts. Is it possible to have a camera or silohette of person with camera directed at the car or whatever is in the graphic? It maybe too much in the image, I don't know. Here's the site, notice the main picture on the front page in the middle of a photographer at a race (ignore my temporary logo as the site has not launched). http://automotomedia.net
Adriel, #45 is really great! Not sure if you can incorporate above at all?
sergiulazin, #'s 46/47 are really creative in the implementation of the car and the motorcycle. I don't know if there's a way to incorporate what I suggested above?
LiwaRaya: #30 is really clean and nice, though the car is not really inspiring. The cars and motorcycles on the site will likely be of the performance variety (car enthusiasts like sports cars or racing cars, etc). Maybe a side profile of like an F1 racing car or something like that. http://www.i-am-youth.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/ferrari-f1-car-wallpaper-3.jpg silohette maybe show some motion like #32? I think the play symbol might look better in the D and the A of Media as it ties to the word better. Though I really don't know what the heck I'm talking about with graphics. :)
ameenyarob: #31 is cool, but I hope I didn't lead you too far stray with the steering wheel. It kind of looks a little disjointed. If the wheel were up higher and only the t cross section was holding the wheel? The bottom part of the t seems like the feet to me and that wouldn't be quite right holding the wheel itself. Hopefully that makes sense?
inciseLogo: #32 is really nice. I don't know how to improve it really.
EderGod: #33 is not performance related enough to be in the running at this point.
humtum: #27 Clean design...Not sure about the lines and wheels?
jtscreative: #14 looks pretty great. I showed it to a friend of mine who has a creative eye and he said the blue handlebar thing on the o in moto could go. Also, the last word is hard to tell the difference between "medic" and "media". The car, if was a little more performance oriented would be cool.
Jejemon: #1 & 15 are both great. My friend saw it and immediately thought of the Bentley symbol. I didn't catch it, but once we looked at it, I could see the inspiration there. Did he interpret that right?
Canaiba, creative interpretations. I kind of like seing AutoMoto (first leters of auto and moto capitalized). The motorcycle is cool, is there a way to blend a car into the graphic some way? I also like the tracks leading up to the media, but wondering if you can make them look more like two car tracks like having left rubber on the road from burning out? Maybe that would look good?
LQGQmaker, #7 & 8 look the same to me. Hard to see the tie in with cars and motorcycles. I do like the media aspects of the graphic.
ameenyarob, very creative! I really like the Moto part. A few things....The font may be a little to playful. What would the Auto look like with the T holding the O like a steering wheel? The red colored car figure surounding the media part is cool, but not really performance oriented (maybe more swoopy?). Thank you for your efforts!
LQGQmaker, I like the font, but the car may be a bit too boxy.
jejemon, really cool design! Is there a way to incorporate cars or motorcycles?

4 stars means the design is in the running
3 stars means it's nice, but something isn't quite right
2 stars means your off the mark a bit
I'll move a few of the 4 stars into 5 stars as we near completion.
