bonita, I like your designs because they are quite different but could you resubmit with the colours outlined in the brief?
There are some great ideas here. We really like the designs by "danielwatson" as they are sophisticated and the use of negative space is really clever.
Some logos we like:
Facebook
Twitter
Fedora Project (the f/infinity symbol is genius)
Also we really like the clever logos as shown in this article - we want something like this - clean, simple, but clever and sophisticated. Remember we're trying to target sophisticated, arty, cultural people!
Thanks for the submissions so far - keep them coming! A little feedback:
We really like draft #1 - it fits the brief nicely and looks great in black on white and white on black too. My only concern is that it has no symbol so we're not sure how we'd make a favicon or other small icon from it.
Problems with Draft #2 is that it refers to a specific art form and is a little bit too "fussy" with the figurine. Draft #3 is also not on-brief as it uses a serif font.
Not keen on draft #4 as I just don't like the swirl background, and maybe looks too much like a paintbrush stroke, which we're trying to avoid.
Drafts #5#6 and #7 are good - I like the clever use of the "play" forward arrow. I also like that draft #6 has a symbol, but I'm not sure that the symbol means anything or is distinguishable enough.
I quite like draft #8 and draft #9 and would like to see versions of them in black on white/white on black.
Draft #10 is good but I wonder if it is too busy - I need to show it to some colleagues and see what they think!
I really don't like draft #11 - it doesn't look like a logo: the font is poor and the symbol is meaningless.
I hope this feedback helps and please keep more designs coming. I may make this a guaranteed contest on Monday morning to try and encourage some more great designs!

"we want to go vibrant lime green but the precise code is NOT definite!"
I can't edit the brief, but it should say "NOT definite"!
Thanks
