Thank you for all of your hard work on this contest! We have seen your talent shine through in these creative designs. Unfortunately, the Project Holder has decided to withdraw this contest. This means that the PH will not select a winner.
No worries though, MycroBurst has selected an unofficial winner. All of us at MycroBurst are aware of how much work goes into submitting designs to a project, thus we will be awarding $50 to this winner.
MycroBurst has chosen sangeethraghav as our unofficial winner!
We want to express our gratitude to each and every one of you. You have helped to create the amazing MycroBurst design community!
General comment (#71-86) - the horses are looking great! Would like to see some aspect of harness or at least a driving bridle (part of the harness) on the horse's head. The blinkers/blinders (part that covers the horse's eye) on a driving bridle are iconic and would help to immediately identify it as a driving horse.
All drafts - please stay away from using red, white & blue together in your designs...it's a little too 'American' for a Canadian organization ;-)
#56 & 57 - I like the style & line of the horse and the use of carriage elements (wheel & track). Clean & simple is good. Something about how the elements are arrange still feels a bit visually disjointed....but I'm not sure how or why.
#53 - I really like the unique perspective on the horse as well as the style & use of line Something about the wheels are a bit off - not sure if it's the size, placement, perspective or colour....can't put my finger on it.
#52 - the carriage & driver are very accurate. Need a different horse...posture & leg position show a specific "gaited" breed which you wouldn't see in carriage driving.
Draft 20 & 23 - the top part of the carriage needs to go as it's not the style of our competition carriages. Would like to see different font & colour
Draft #4 - please disregard the previous "gothic" comment...was meant for a different design! I like your concept. Would like to see horse in slightly different position (he looks like he's jumping)
Draft #32 - interesting concept, very stylized horse. Need to see some element that hints at driving: maybe a harness, carriage track, wheel, etc and would like to see a different font
Draft #29 & 30 - I like the concept, especially how the horse is done....looks like could be one horse + shadow or 2 horses driven as a team. Don't like the colours on 29...any other colour options?
Draft 27 & 28 - the horse is improved. Legs in right position. Don't like the yellow & red...other colours? The logo seems very long (too rectangular). Could shorten the carriage to represent a 2 wheel cart instead of a 4 wheel carriage.
Draft 24, 25, 26 - concept represents carriage driving well. Horse could be a little more refined...he looks a bit fat & out of shape! Font on 24 & 25 is too curvy & stylized. I like the Alberta font on 26 but not the Association font. Can I see other colour options? Maybe 2 tones?
Draft #10 & 11 are too 'period-specific'...looks like a scene from the 1900s. Logo needs to portray carriage driving in the 21st century...as an action sport.
Draft #14 would like to see it with a different style of carriage. The one shown is not something you'd see in competitive driving. See pics on ACDA website for samples of carriage style we use.
Draft #7 & #8 Equestrian theme/horse pic is too generic...it's doesn't leave an impression of carriage driving.
Draft #12 & 13 Definitely portrays driving. Would like to see the horse re-worked...the legs are showing a horse in a 'pacing' gait. If you switched which front leg is fwd & back then the horse would be in a proper 'trot' gait.
Draft #4 design is not sexually generic enough and the horse is too stylized...feels very gothic.
Draft #2 a little too simplized. There needs to be elements in the design that make the aspect of carriage driving more obvious.
Draft #3 & 4 - the horse is in a jumping posture which isn't reflective of carriage driving. I really like the line style that the horse is drawn in and the swoosh line does reflect a carriage wheel track. Nice use of elements
Drafts #5 &6 - again the horse is in a jumping position. Needs a horse element that more reflects a driving posture. Nice use of color.
All designs - feel free to shorten Association to Assoc. and emphasis should be on the words Carriage Driving.
