    Thank you very much for the excellent design submissions.

    It was really difficult to pick a winner and impossible to get a unanimous consensus on the "best" design.

    We hope those designers that did not win will realize that efforts are really appreciated and that additional selections were limited by the amount of financial resources available.

    Found some more freeware Chinese fonts for designers to use -- they are located here:

    I particularly like the following fonts:
    Name: 漢鼎繁中變 - HDZB_27.TTF
    Name: 汉鼎简楷体 - HDZB_36.TTF
    Name: 汉鼎简舒体 - HDZB_39.TTF
    Name: 漢鼎繁中楷 - HDZB_74.TTF

    NOTE: Prior to installation of the above fonts, please make sure that Chinese characters is enabled in your computer. For recent version of Mac OS X, Chinese characters are enabled by default, you don't need to configure anything. But for Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista user, go to "Control Panel" -> "Regional Settings" to enable/select Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan with U.S. keyboard is recommended).

    When you have your computer properly configured for Chinese fonts, you will see our company name below:

    Do not use a black background, please.

    Black backgrounds won't work out well when business cards, etc., are printed with the design on them.

    It looks like my comments get reformatted a little, sorry.

    BTW: My notes regarding formatting are based on the two best designs received so far.

    We would review any design and look forward to choosing the best as the winner of the contest.

    Also based on the designs received so far, it looks like there should be two separate versions. One without the Chinese text, and a second version that has the Chinese text in it.

    If our Chinese company name were a requirement, we would not have a usable design yet, as the best two designs are done in English only.

    Having two versions will allow us to pick the best English version as the winner of the contest, while the second version that has our Chinese organizational name will be available when we need it in the future.

    Many designers seem to have difficulty with the Chinese characters. I found this open-source True Type Font (TTF), that produces a fairly professional looking result:

    wt071.ttf (HanWangShinSuMedium)

    It would be nice to have the Chinese text morphed into an icon / mascot image, but it may be too challenging of a task, especially if the designer does not know Chinese.

    Perhaps the following would work?

    However, I was thinking more along the lines of (with the Chinese text morphed into a knight or angelic -like symbol)...

    Based on what I have seen so far, it looks like it is too difficult get a knight's helmet or angel symbol to work in the design and still have a clean corporate look to it.

    That said, I did see a knight/angel design concept that may work... I am just waiting to see the outcome of that.

    is a name composed of 3 characters. Each of these 3 characters can be split in half to form 2 legitimate characters (6 characters in total), but this should not be done as it changes the way the characters will be read and interpreted.

    Please DO NOT use: Blue or Green.

    To have the Chinese characters morphed into a mascot image would be perfect. An angelic (apsara) mascot would be nice, but there is a concern of the mascot image being too feminine.

    We are completely open to other mascot images too, as we cannot think of a mascot that would be more relevant to Information Technology Consulting Services.

    NOTE: The Chinese characters are read from left-to-right and may be changed to top-to-bottom (stacked), with the left-most character being placed on the top and the right-most character being placed on the bottom.

    Ideally, the Chinese characters will be morphed into an image to place further emphasis on the English name.

    We feel that the characters would be best read from top-to-bottom, to avoid left-to-right and right-to-left reading confusion. However, common practice would have the characters read from left-to-right when mixed with English, so left-to-right (as displayed in provided picture) is acceptable too, if it works out better in the overall design.

    It would be nice to have the Chinese characters morphed into an iconic image, yet retain readability to those that know Chinese.

    However, it may be too difficult to morph the Chinese characters, so I am not completely attached to this idea.

    1. We would prefer that the design be weighted towards the English name, as the sole proprietor does not know Chinese.

    2. We would like to have an image incorporated into the design, but are unsure what the appropriate image would be.
