A business logo for an Adventure Company: 'Rannoch'

  Rannoch

  Yes

This is a new adventure company that has two main functions. One being ocean based expeditions such as rowing across the Atlantic and the other being taking high net worth clients on bespoke expeditions in various locations around the world. These are not so much luxurious expeditions, but rather a challenge whereby we will push clients to their physical limits and take them to extreme, tough and inhospitable environments such as deserts, high altitudes, jungles, etc. We have several ex Royal Marines working with us in order to achieve this, as well as ocean rowing world record holders and an ex olympic athlete.

As mentioned, our target market is high net worth clients so we, as a company want to emanate extreme professionalism and attention to detail in all aspects of our service.

N.B: The company is called 'Rannoch' because it is not only the place where the company founder grew up in but it is also one of the most baron and extreme landscapes in the UK (Scotland). However, this is just for your information, not for logo ideas.

Secondary colours (optional): Red & blue.

If you decide to incorporate the environments we work in such as oceans for example - we are open to the use of more colours such blue in that respect.

The name Rannoch must be shown, but not necessarily within the logo as
such. Feel free to manipulate the type though.

One idea that we have worked on is the 'Rannoch' name in the centre with a
simple jagged line depicting mountains rising above it and another more
wavy line below depicting oceans. The overall shape was sort of a diamond.
This idea can be seen in my uploaded files. We used the 'patagonia logo'
for inspiration for the mountainous line above:

Please look at suggestion 2 in my uploaded files also for another concept
we worked on. In short, this is where an icon representing our company is
separate to the name. A good example to look at in this respect is the
'Rossignol' Logo:

.,cf.osb&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=8MzJT4a6Eoer0QWH-uy9AQ

Some fonts we played around with also were Trajan Pro, copperplate gothic
and Rage Italic. We are fairly new to this though so we are totally open to
any other fonts.

We would quite like to utilize different graphic designs of the
environments we operate in, However, we would want no more than four:
Mountains, ocean, desert, jungle. However, our primary areas are oceans and
mountains. The key with these would be to refrain from adding small
details, but rather to try and convey these using simple lines or colours,
etc.

We also like the idea of using a compass in our logo, however it is not
required. This is the kind of style we would be looking for though i.e.

We are totally open to any other ideas, so please feel free to try anything
out that you would feel fits our company brief better. But again, the key
is simplicity, professionalism and emanating the our extreme nature.

This is a logo I tried to work on. Please feel free to build upon this if you choose to go in this direction.

Rannoch_Suggestion_21444.png

This is the sort of idea I had for the first suggestion in my design brief. Please feel free to build upon this in any way. We also had the idea of trying to create some sort of perspective whereby Rannoch is at the base of the mountain line and the water line looks as though it is coming towards you.

Rannoch_Suggestion_Two_21445.png

This is another concept we quite like whereby the mountain/ocean is depicted in a circular shape next to the name on the right or left (wherever it works best). With an R in the centre. THis concept is to allow us to be able to just use the icon without the name in the future, when the name is established.
