  Five hours before the end, we are leaning in favor of selecting Murdiati's No. 45 as the winner. However, we still have to hear from other important others within our organization to make the final decision. Plus we are waiting for last-minute submissions of competing logos. Anything could happen within the next five hours.

  In a 5th anniversary logo, it would be nice if the "5" bursts through the logo. See http://www.openaccesslibrary.org/logo.html as examples. The bursting through adds verve and energy to this "birthday" event.

  A square-like logo (see #8) or a cicular logo would be preferable over rectangle-like logos (see #11 and #12). However, the grey color of #8 is a tad too dull.

  Attention Designers!!
  
  MycroBurst permits you to submit unlimited designs with unlimited variations. However, if you are providing 2 or 3 different color versions of the same logo in one draft, please make sure that if the particular draft gets finalized, each color version should be separated before you will send the final files.

  This is an evolving project. The more we think about the logo, the more we will likely select a logo (celebrating our 5th anniversary of hosting academic conferences) that satisfies these requirements. It will contain three phrases: (i) 5th anniversary, (ii) IJAS Conferences, and (iii) 2008-2013. The most prominent word, in the form of a logo, will be "5th". The least prominent phrase will be "2008-2013."

  After seeing the first 7 submissions, we realize that we failed to point out the following. The emphasis should be on "5th" as in 5th anniversary. Do not create another IJAS logo! Instead create a logo for the "5th". It would be nice if the design for the "5th" would be somehow related in look to the current IJAS logo. The "5th anniversary" line should be bigger than the IJAS Academic Conferences line. The very focal point of this exercise should be the word "5th". We blame ourselves for not getting this message across earlier. We apologize for the inconvenience.
