Thank you very much to all those who participated. Making a choice between the designs has been extremely difficult because all of them in the end were excellent. Thanks for your dedication Fertigo and Fenix. You both worked very hard and your efforts are very much appreciated. We decided to choose Rocker's design as the winner because of ease of communication, Rocker's great design skills and knowledge, and the fact that Rocker has been with the contest from the start when it we originally launched it back in August.

    All the best, Exam Success.

Dezinerguru. Nicely balanced, clean and friendly design however it is too highschool/university feeling for our target market of 25-35 ish professionals already in the industry. Nice layout of the header, logo size.

Bontangster #96, #94 overall too busy, crowded. Too many photos in #96. Heading font in #96 not corporate feeling. #94 -like the relationship between the highlighted yellow knowledge and the secondary heading.

Fenix: Both #62,#62 show very nice improvement. Great corporate feel. Like the subdued, quiet header links and login info.
Both logo presentations work nicely. Like the fonts you changed to for the headings. Like the overall layout. Missing from $x in each other 3 what we offer boxes. Will advise shortly on other modifications required.

Designer Guru: Thanks for your entry. With less than one day left in the contest we have some good designs which are in the tweaking process.

Designs are at a stage where they closely resemble each other so the details and attention to details are what counts now!

    Initial feedback:
    1) We like the use of the faded X, checkmark, colour choices, fonts.
    2) The from $x is a awkward on the LHS.
    3) The dollar Sign (S) goes before the $ amount in North America (where we are).
    4) Home link is not required on home page.
    5) Learn More links should read More.
    6) About us link should read About.
    7) Nav bar 2 needs to be bolded.

sheeraz: #60, #61 Your original border colour (hue) was too sky colour looking but its VALUE was actually quite pleasing.

The colours chosen for the 3 boxes are still not corporate feeking and too spa/vacation like. There are several spelling issues, and your headings and text spacing... is not reflecting the provided draft copy/direction.

Mindtrickattack. Your newest versions #59, #58 are cleaner but there are too many boxes and horizontal coloured lines of the same colour intensity throughout the page so the eye is distracted and is not sure where to focus.

    General:

    1) e-mail address in header can be eliminated.
    2) What we Offer heading (you can choose to eliminate if doing so works better for the design).

sheeraz: Nice font choices, the larger size fonts for the text make the content easy on the eyes.

Really like how the header and border are the same colour and that it contrasts nicely with the logo box and the logo so that the logo stands out and is not sandwiched between 2 bars of colour like in the other designs.

Over all the design is appealing but the aqua colours and wave effects remind us more of a fun, youth oriented spa/travel website and not the corporate-serious more adult like website we are seeking.

The title case and font you have used also working better than the uppercase thick and narrow fonts some of the other designs have used.

Pls. work with the headings, draft content provided for relevance, spacing purposes.

To clean up/ simplify the top jump page nav bar, might try the use of icons (RHS justified) instead of the text links.

  • November 6, 2010 3:38 PM briangordon

Like the overall balance of the page Deck 86. Header and top of page seems slightly overcrowded and nav bar 1 needs to be realigned so all links are to the RHS.
Want to reduce intensity/loudness of main header it is looking unwelcoming. Perhaps change font, deminish size, increase white spacing around it. Reduce text below the main heading to one 50 word paragraph.

Keep all secondary headings i.e. what we offer, credentials, capabilities consistent in look, size, font, letter case.

Company info address should be lowercase letters. Try a different placement to declutter?

Need a space for an unidentified ad for max 10 words. Not sure where this can go? Could be presented in a burst effect??

Might try different variations of logo colour palet colours, shades..strengths for background shading and headings. Goal is to acheive overall balance whilst attaining a clean, corporate and welcoming look.
