  Wealth Planning for Business Owners

  Yes

Woodland Advisors is a start-up business designed to provide wealth planning services to business owners, specifically. I'll be providing restaurant owners, dentists, contractors, auto dealerships, doctors, and many other types of business owners with advice related to taxes, insurance, investments, accounting, and estate planning. Most wealth management firms concentrate on doing investment management for their clients and, therefore, tend to include the word "financial" in their name. I've purposely excluded the term financial from the Woodland Advisor name in order to de-emphasize investment management, although I will still give investment advice. There's little significance to the name "Woodland" except that it's the street we live on! It's also easy to say and spell and shouldn't offend anyone. Adding the tag line "Wealth Planning for Business Owners" should help to eliminate thoughts of advice related to trees, timber, etc. I'm not against using a tree in the logo, however, and the growth cycle of a tree, it's strength, and other things about it are probably not too unlike a business -- I know that sounds crazy!

I don't have any strong preferences, but would lean toward widespread appeal. Attractive shades of green (sage) and beige or brown can look attractive, but maybe not for this type of advisory business. I like blue, but am sure it's probably overused. I'm open to your suggestions based on colors utilized by other advisory firms.
