@swhinck - great feedback great job on your submissions.

In the end we decided #15 was the way to go. Thanks to all the designers that submitted work!

I just wanted to mention that, rather than being glued to the letter "G" for holding your objects like a hat or hair, I thought it could just be seperate and leaning on or resting next to the logo.

It could give much more freedom in what objects you use for different sections of the site. Hair, glasses, hair products or tools...

    I can understand your frustration.

Prolonging a contest should, normally, bring in more submissions.

Its true though that most of us would prefer to work for a contest which is guaranteed rather than one not.

I cant speak for everyone, but I am sure that most of us here have no problem in working with you after the contest as well, to fine tune an idea.

Nice influx of new designs. FWIW I have contacted mycroburst to guarantee the contest. Should be sorted shortly.

@Alisha - thanks for all your submissions. some of those are very fun.

My fave so far though is #14 by Dave though I would like to se w/o .com and though I like font for the g... not 100% sure on rest of letters.

@CH Give it a chance, dont give up yet. You still have 4 more days left in the game. I am back, I had to think about an ideal before i just put anything. I still putting up more designs, so hold on before you leave us.

Thanks Rockrash. No point in an extension if it doens't generate submissions. A guarantee does look to generate more submissions, but if it doesn't and/or I don't like any of them I would be paying for nothing? I think I may just have to resign taking it to a firm :(

perhaps guarantee the contest might help bring some other in?
Not sure if it's possible but microburst might allow an extension?

In my opinoin it's a little more difficult to create a text base image than coming up with an icon persay. Incorporating a fun feel w/ a professional-ish look is also a challenge to some point. Personally I felt the brief was OK and pretty much understood what you wanted.

From a designers standpoint, is there something I could have improved on in the brief to increase the number of submissions? Was expecting a few more submissions by this stage?

will do. Thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated.

Thanks Rockrash #3 certainly has the fun element, but I am after something a little cleaner with a fun element.

  • January 12, 2010 7:06 PM rockrash

    thanks that helps.

@rockrash: Im complicated :) I lean more toward fun, but it needs to be more sophisticated and professional than its been. To me the sketches lean toward professional and clean but with a splash or element of fun. Hope that helps.

@Alisha: Look forward to seeing what you do :)

Drafts #1 & #2 I like but not for this. Thanks!

    quick question.
In your brief you have a couple of opposing suggestions.
Anyway would you like to keep it sophisticated and professional or more playfull? from your examples it looks like more playfull? would just like to clarify before working on a concept in the wrong direction. Thanks
