    Thank-you for your submissions. There is some potential in your designs. We have a couple of concerns and the first pertains to the font. Your choice certainly conveys a historic theme (though I'm not sure if it is Greek or not) which is good. However, the phrase Geospatial refers to a very modern science and thus deserves a modern font. We like the north arrow about the O, and like the IDEA of using a graticule (lines of lat and long) in the background. However, what you have is a simulation of a graticule. In our industry, our peers and clients will know the difference. If you can't substitute an actual graticule, perhaps you could try removing it altogether.

    Thank-you for your submissions. Your designs are aesthetically very pleasing. However, they do not convey the themes that we would like. Specifically, there is not a geographic component to your designs (please see prior posts), and I am also concerned that the ship you have used is a little too serene: rather than invoking adventure, it instead invokes a leisurely river cruise.

    You are clearly a skilled designer, so my partner and I would love to see what else you can do if you are willing, but this present design will not work. Many Thanks!

    We like your draft #3. However, we have some concerns regarding reproducing it on stationary, shirts, ball caps, etc. It may be that there is too much going on. Could you kindly edit the draft such that the words "Odyssey" and "Geospatial" are the same length, but with slightly smaller font size for "Geospatial", and a somewhat increased emphasis (font size) on the O/globe. Also, please edit the tagline to read "Training" "Consulting" and "Expeditions" separated by bullets rather than the originally proposed "Training, Consulting, and Expeditions". Once you have made these edits, might we see a draft with the ship to the left centered vertically, and another draft without the ship. Finally, might we see these on both black and white backgrounds such that we might better visualize them on stationary, etc. Many thanks!

    There are aspects of both of your drafts that my business partner and I like. Regarding draft #6, we like the font, and we very much like what you have done with the tagline. In retrospect, "Training" "Consulting" and "Expeditions" separated by bullets, as you have done, works better than the originally proposed "Training, Consulting, and Expeditions". This should be retained in any future design. Additionally, the logo of the O with the north arrow incorporated has good potential and we like it's incorporation in draft #7. However, on whole we find draft #6 a little too generic/common/lacking of 'wow' factor. We really like the ship in draft #7, but do not like the font/type that is beneath it. I really like how the logo in that font ties into the logo upon the sail, but the remaining red text (while contrasting with the logo) doesn't work in our opinion. Perhaps some type of marriage between the ship of draft #7, and the font of draft #6? Our last concern regarding the ship: while I didn't have a problem using closure to fill in the "missing" lines between the bow of the ship and the hull, my partner and his wife did. They asked "what is that arrow and crescent moon sticking off the front of the ship?" Once I explained it to them, hey got it, but the fact that I had to point it out is a concern to them. Might you be able some thin lines to fill out the outline of the ship such to remove this guess work? Many thanks!

    Blueblu, I like what you have done with draft #1. However, the logo needs to include some kind of geographic component. i.e the globe mentioned in the description, or a north arrow/compass, sextant, map, graticule, satellite, etc. That's probably my fault for underemphasizing this aspect, but this will more accurately reflect what it is that we do. Thanks for the first draft!
