    Several announcements:

I have extended the contest by 3 days. This will likely be the only extension.

I have tried to put star ratings on all of the entries not eliminated or withdrawn to try to give everyone an idea of how things are shaping up.

In the brief, I had put our name down as Oxhard Marketing Technology (singluar). There were some artists who used the plural (technologies instead of technology), and that really resonated with my partner. FOR ALL NEW ENTRIES... please use Oxhard Marketing Technologies instead of Oxhard Marketing Technology. FOR OLDER ENTRIES... no need to change and resubmit for now. If your design is what we think we will go with, we will send you a message asking you to change the word "technology" to "technologies". I don't want to make unnecessary work for everyone because we changed our minds mid-contest.

    Thank you all so much.

    All,

Thank you again for all of the hard work. Here's a bit more feedback.

The orange circle/square with text idea has several good iterations (#5, #8, #15, #33, #67, #69, #71, #80, #81). I'm not saying I'm opposed to someone who has a unique take, but I don't think we need more of those with only a subtle variation.

I like the new ideas of the "fancy x". #59 and #60, perhaps try with just the x being orange. #78, perhaps try with the line and caption under Oxhard vs. above. #73 and #74 - like the concept, not wild about the dot by the x.

More updates to follow this afternoon after a meeting with my partner. Thanks.

Draft #42 by yokorama is a derivative of #8 by JaxDesign, therefore has been taken down.

Wow. You all are extremely talented and creative artists. I am deeply appreciative of your continued efforts.

Below are some comments to (hopefully) help the continued development process. These are just suggestions, take or leave as you deem appropriate.

#22 & #23 - I like the sans serif. I think I prefer all caps for Oxhard. I like the idea of two tones, but prefer orange. Perhaps orange with gray/silver?

#24 - I like the "X" in the abstract mark. Perhaps try with feedback from #23 and #22.

#28 - I like the abstract mark and the font. Please try with orange.

    #31 & #32 - Very nice. I like both fonts.

#37 - Nice start. I like the line underneath Oxhard. I also like the abstract mark. Consider slightly darker text and/or mark.

#38 - Interesting concept. Please try with orange and either white or silver/gray as the swirl color. Also, I'm not wild about the font. Consider something a little less playful.

#46 - Nice innovation on the abstract mark. Consider making the mark circular. Also consider trying different combinations or orange, black, white, and gray/silver.

Lakshmiks...I ask politely, please stop posting designs that are very similar to mine and copying my changes. ie: I post an orange circle with a swoosh mark, so do you. I change that color to two-tone, so do you. I enjoy the competition, but designs should be original "in thought" for this project holder. Much appreciated.

Draft #16 by lakshmiks (draft submission date: March 16, 2011 7:54 AM) is a replica of http://www.mycroburst.com/contests/lanteri-s: number 31 and 32 by Crystal (draft submission date: March 11, 2011 4:25 AM), therefore has been taken down.

Again, nice work everyone. I appreciate the time and creativity invested.

Just to let everyone know, we are committed to buying one of these logos, even though the contest isn't guaranteed. I don't want anyone to think we are wasting their time.

Thus far, my partner and I have decided that #5, #15, #16, and #8 are the closest in style thus far to what we would like.

Potential alterations that could be made (and may be improvements):
    * I'm still interested in other abstract mark concepts. I like some of the current ones (enough to commit to buying), but nothing has really hit me as perfect yet.
    * I would like to see what a sans serif font looks like on the logo. The serif font looks very professional, but I have been drawn to other logos that use a sans serif. Don't abandon the serif ones, because they may still be preferred.
    * After looking at even more logos on this site, I am definitely attracted to the Web 2.0 look. One aspect that none of the four top concepts has incorporated is a gradient in the text. I'm not sure if orange is the best color for that (especially with a white background), but I do like the look of the color gradients in #18, #19, and #20. Perhaps gray to black or black to gray may work better for the "Oxhard" part?
    * Similarly, I like the idea of some color in the text. Perhaps keep the Oxhard part as black and/or gray and the underlying text is orange? Will that be readable? Just throwing out ideas.

    Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the great entries thus far. Here are some comments:
#1 - Nice, but not what I was looking for
#2,3,4 - Not a fan of the blue. The design of the abstract mark in #3 and #4 is interesting in that the curves kind of make an "X".
#6 and #7 - I like the creativity of the abstract art. Perhaps a bit less orange, more gray and/or black. Nice work, though.
#5 and #8 - Very clean and corporate. I prefer the mark in #5 slightly. I know this will sound vague, but they seem to be missing "something". I wish I could give more guidance.

Again, thanks for the work. I hope the feedback is helpful instead of nit-picky.

As I look at other projects, I find myself drawn to logos with Web 2.0 elements. I'm not sure if that is the right look for this or not, but don't be afraid to add a Web 2.0 feel if that's consistent with your vision (even though it's not on the brief).
