    Designers,

    Thank you so much for your marvelous ideas! I have been overwhelmed by your response to my project, and am very grateful for your time and effort.

    All of the designs that I received were excellent, however not all of them were exactly what I had in mind or consistent with my personal style. Please accept my apology if I eliminated your design(s) without a private thank you note . . . I just had so many submissions that I had a hard time keeping up!

    At this point, I have now narrowed the decision down to just a few designs and am working with those designers on some final revisions. At this point, I AM NOT ACCEPTING ANY NEW SUBMISSIONS.

    Thank you again for your work and tremendous creativity.

    Please note that I do not want to include any pink in my logo. Accordingly, I am eliminating all of the submissions that use pink, including Drafts #261, #223, #221, #218, #217, and #216.

    Designers:

    Thank you very much for your submissions. I appreciate your work, but am concerned that there are many designs that contradict the explicit instructions provided in my design brief and subsequent comments. Accordingly, I am eliminating these drafts for the following reasons.

    Drafts #230, #257, #279, #280, #286, #287, #288 all contain hearts, which I've indicated should not be a part of the design.

    Draft #284 contains the image of a flower, which my comments explicitly reject.

    Draft #259 contains the image of a scale, which I requested in my design brief not be included.

    Thank you again for your attention to my detailed instructions.

    I'd like to review a few basic requirements for this design.

    THE BUSINESS NAME: The business name -- "Family & Divorce Solutions" should be on one line and should be a single color. Each word of the name should be capitalized. Please do not use a cursive font. Please choose a font with a conventional ampersand (&).

    THE IMAGE: Please avoid images that incorporate (or even hint at) a heart. Please do not use images that suggest wreaths, flowers, or that have a great deal of fine detail. Please try to incorporate more than two colors into the image.

    Drafts #10, #15 and #22 were eliminated because they incorporated the first letters of my business name (FDS) into the image, which I have indicated I do not want.

    I have eliminated Drafts #1, #3, #5, #24, #33, #34, #35 and #37 because they broke my business name up into two or more lines, and I specifically requested that the entire business name be on a single line.

    I would welcome revised designs that correct these issues.

    Please choose a font that offers a conventional ampersand (&). I don't really care for the more stylized ampersands in Drafts #4 and #16.

    Thank you very much for your submission. You're definitely on the right track. I wonder if you'd be willing to revise your design as follows:

    I would like to see a more conventional ampersand (&). am not crazy about the ampersand. I would also appreciate it if you could make the horizontal line considerably lighter. Finally, I like the image but find it a little too floral and I'm concerned that it might be too feminine. Can you tweak it a little bit, and perhaps incorporate more color?

    Please do not use initials from the business name (FDS) in the image, as in Drafts #10 and #15.

    Please do not make the image vastly larger than the business name as it is in Drafts #10, #13, #14, and #15.

    Thank you very much for your work. Unfortunately, these designs do not meet the design brief.

    Please note that the business name must be on a single line -- not broken up, as it is here. In addition, I feel strongly about using an abstract, non-representational image. I do like your use of color, especially in Draft #14, and would welcome revised submissions that comport more closely with my requirements.

    Thank you for your submission. I like the colors that you've chosen, and think that the font you've chosen for "Family & Divorce" works well. I'm less enthused about the cursive font, though. I don't love the image, either; I'm not sure what it has to do with anything. Please consider revising your design by putting the entire business name on a single line, and incorporating a softer, less pointy shape in the image.

    I'm intrigued by your use of a colored background, but am concerned that the font is too casual. Please suggest something more formal. Along those same lines, please use uppercase letters in the tagline; I think lowercase is unprofessional for a law practice. Finally, although I really like the colors and squares that you've incorporated into the image, a picture -- even an abstract one -- of a house coming apart makes me anxious. I don't think it works to emphasize the "loss" aspect of the divorce situation. Perhaps something a little less graphic?

    I really like the fonts that you've chosen, but I'd prefer that "Family and Divorce Solutions" all be on the same line. I'd also prefer a more abstract image, but I like the way that you've located the image to the left of the text, and I think that the scale of the image works well. I'd love to see your revisions, and an image that is less clearly representational.

    Designers: A few afterthoughts on my design brief.

    1. I think it's important that "Family & Divorce Solutions" be a single line of text. It's probably tempting to break it up as "Family & Divorce" followed by "Solutions" on a second line, but I don't like the way this looks.

    2. Although it is very important to me that my design convey warmth, this business is first and foremost a law practice. The design needs to tell clients that their complex legal issues are going to be treated seriously and capably.

    3. I'm really NOT committed to including the tagline in the design. Please feel free to submit designs that omit the tagline.
