Great progress! Can I see some different shades of red (not darker) and different shading and surface options for the red box? Also, I like that in some of the designs like #166, the ends of the monogram go out of the box.
We're heading in the right direction with the font, but I'm still not 100% pleased with the name font, although I do like the black. What about these fonts for inspiration: http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/freebies/minimal-web-design-fonts/
Thanks for all your hard work.

To give you a little background on my identity, I'm a Texan, business professional, young guy, rancher, surfer, adventurer, world traveler, lived in places like Acapulco, Rio de Janeiro, and now Milan. I need a fresh, polished, and strong personal logo to represent me over the next decade of my life.

    Hope that helps!

I was harsh on the eliminations today so that all can have a better idea in what direction I am going. If I eliminated yours, please take another chance and resubmit (after seeing what designs remain and re-reading my comments here).
    1) I really like the name font in design #106. Let's see some bold to light variations of that font or others very similar. Keep in black.
    2) I like the monogram in the red shaded square in design #99; the proportions seem right. Let's see a monogram like that with all letters connecting (no breaks) and some bold to light variations of the font (could match the font mention in the first point.
    3) I'd like some versatility with the monogram to use in different instances:
    a) white monogram in red box
    b) black monogram in red box
    c) black monogram with no box
    4) There's something about the edge/attitude in design #85 I like. Not sure if it's possible to incorporate it, but I thought I'd mention it.

Great progress! I starred the ones that are heading in the right direction. Again, PLEASE READ MY PREVIOUS COMMENTS.
    Let's eliminate the grey.
Just do the monogram (all capital letters connected) in red. I like #41's idea of putting it in a red square. Let's square off the corners and see what that looks like.
Let's see my full name in black (all capital letters). Let's try some narrower fonts that are cleaner and more minimalistic. Thanks. JML

Great entries so far; I'm impressed. Clarifications: the JML monogram letters should share the vertical lines/stems and be in all in red (orange-red all the way through crimson, no darker). I'd like the font to be sans serif, but not Arial, something cleaner, modern and narrow, but with some weight. Again, everything should be in all capital letters. Thanks. JML

I forgot to mention I'd like it all to be in capital letters. Thanks. JML
