    Goal
To communicate to our clients that we, as a company, are as unique as our logo. We also want to stand out in the helicopter industry. We do not want to do what has been done, we want to do it better. Since our target customer base is the TV industry, we want to convey that we are creative enough to not just meet there expectations but improve upon them. Our logo will be the first step in doing just that.

    Design Brief
GreenLight Aviation is niche helicopter company specializing in Aerial Production for the TV and Film industry. We provide complete coordination for everything needed for any aerial production. Once we know the where and when of any job, we can then consult our extensive roster of pilots, producers, and cameramen to advise you on the most efficient way to achieve the goals of your project without ever compromising the quality of our services.

GreenLight was founded by Chris Aultman, who has been a professional pilot based in Los Angeles for the past 9 years. While working on jobs all over the world, including Antarctica, Libya, Malta, Australia and New Zealand, he has developed the skills to deliver fantastic results in the the most challenging conditions possible. For the past 4 years, Chris has flown all the aerials for the show Whale Wars on Animal Planet. This experience has made it possible for Chris to learn the running of a production from the inside out, constantly working with the production team to always deliver the best possible images that capture both story and composition without ever compromising on safety. It is that ethic that GreenLight Aviation is founded upon.

Through our logo, we want to show that we are creative, unique and professional. We don't want to look or act like other helicopter companies, and this starts with our logo.

    Competition Research
A quick search on Google with show that minimal effort is put into most helicopter companies logos. They are mostly clip art images and basic shapes mixed with color graphics. Also, they mostly are literal interpretations of the company and the services it provides. We want to avoid this and instead create a "one-off" logo that can be used as a company brand, without the text of the company name.

    Concept Guidelines

Please use the following Guidelines when designing this logo.

    1. The logo should be simple, the simpler the better.
    2. The logo should be easy to understand and unique.
    3. It should be able to be used as a brand, without text and should not interact with the text.
    4. It should NOT be a literal representation of the company or it's services. An example of this would be logo with a helicopter shining a green light down on the text of the company.
    5. Stock Clip Art should be avoided if possible.
    6. The design can draw on any aspects of the Owner, company or industry such as aviation, rotor blades, TV, Film, Antarctica, Robots, cameras, etc.
    7. The logo must be fully scalable.
8.The preferred shape for the logo is round but all other shapes will be considered.
    9. The logo should work in one color.
    10. A image of a helicopter is NOT to be used in the logo. Rotor Blades are ok.
    11. All fonts shale be shown in solid Black.
    12. The Owner like a creative play on shapes and images that convey a message.

    Design Inspiration

The following logos illustrate unique and simple design concepts that are desired for our logo. They are NOT inspiration for our logo and are only shown for reference.

GreenLight Aviation is a aerial production helicopter company specializing in the television industry. Our clients are producers, directors and cameramen. We want a logo that is simple yet creative and most of all unique. We also want it to stand alone without the name of the company so that it could act like a company brand.

We have seen many ideas, most use a helicopter above the company name and the color green. We want to explore other options. One idea is to play on the "greenlight" or "Stop Light" idea. Based on that please design a logo based on that basic concept with the focus being on the green light in the stoplight. One thought would be to have a silhouette of a helicopter inside or super imposed over the green light in the stoplight. This is just one idea but it illistartes that we are looking for something other than the standard helicopter company logo.
