    Vector, can you put #43 on an inverse like you did on #41 ?

    Also, where the bottom of the left wing connects to the torso, can you connect it the same as the right? Just have that circuit line follow the same inner pattern as the right. I would like both wings to be as symmetrical as possible when close to the body.

    Acedesign, if you could alter #24 to have the left wing look more like the sketch I uploaded, I think we will be very close.

    You have the correct proportions of butterfly.
    It is just that the circuits are too "busy". They are just too much.

    I like the idea of straight lines but only when it gets father away from the butterfly. The closer to the center, the more organic the lines need to be.

    Finaldesign, #25-28 have the circuits too thin. They will not be visible from a distance and very hard to be put on metallic sign.

    For #20, do not make the "3" look like a wing if the butterfly is separate from the text. A regular 3 works for that.

    #21-24 are too "busy" in the left wing and has very little organic feel to it.

    Because that was a new direction, for the logo with the butterfly embedded in the word, I am going to forgo my original brief and explore new ideas in the comments.

    For the separate logo and text, I will focus more on what my original ideas were.

    I like the font in #14-#17, although would like the "3" to look regular on #16 & #17 because the rest of the butterfly is not attached.

    For the "in the text" butterfly, I do think that his left wing needs to be closed, which you are already doing.

    I like the butterfly in 12,13,14,15 in the context that it is w/in the font. But still the right side is off balanced.

    All of the butterflies are not synthetic enough. They all look like standard clip-art with one wing sliced off and replaced.

    #14 is neat except the "3" part of the butterfly is too large and doesn't look like it is part of the same butterfly.

    #18, 19, (Hi Finaldesign) the circuits are too small. I don't know if I like the trace of the wing being the "3". It took me a while to figure it out. At first, it just looked like a very jagged "3".

    Although, that brings up a new possible concept. What would it look like if just the right wing was used. That wing had the circuits and faded away to the left so the right edge was still the emphasis and the "3"?

    I was asked to elaborate on the comments of July 10, 2010 3:07 PM. I'm going to assume it was the part that talked about the left wing being open.

    #3 is very close with that idea. Although, #3 has too many circuits on the edge. I want the left edge to be very minimalistic. Not "busy". It is the "thinnest" most transparent part of the image.

    The farthest left should be 99% circuit board. On a real circuit board, the lines do not join up to form closed lines. They are connecting point A to point B.

    Also, I'm not wanting the wings and head to have such a far distance. There is too much empty space.

    Vector, #2 looks like a good start.
    I think the pure black and white ones on the bottom look neat.

    Can you try one where the wings on the left do not close all the way? Have them stop with those circular circuit terminators. Make it so they just go around the corner and give direction but then stop. The viewer's brain will fill in the rest.

    A couple more ideas:

    I want the butterfly to lean more towards an illustration with exaggerated proportions. Like if it was purely synthetic, science-fiction, sturdy, not fragile. Like a cyborg, or robotic butterfly. Maybe the butterfly is created by something that doesn't quite know what a butterfly is supposed to look like and the result are shapes that are simple approximations of a butterfly. A characterization.

    There definitely needs to be a pattern visible. The wings on the right need to look more like a Monarch butterfly (or others with discernible patterns). The left wing needs to be mostly transparent with the pattern starting out strong towards the center but terminating on the outer fringe, thinner, almost wispy.

    Imagine either one of the two following scenarios.

    One, a robotic butterfly landed on a circuit board and is merging with it. The left side is completely merged yet the circuits still have a visual link to what was once there. The right side has yet to be merged.

    Two, the complete flip-side of that, there is a synthetic butterfly being born from a circuit board. The right side has detached from the board while the left is still in the board.
