    There are more colours in the universe than green and black, lets go crazy and use other colours!

    These logos should jump out at me, they should grab my attention, I dare you all to really WOW me!

    they're fine but as I said in the comment dated "May 1, 2011 8:17 AM", if you're going to use speech bubbles then you need to do something amazing with them, this wasn't.

    green box looks better than the white box. this would look lovely for anyone else's logo but for me it needs more punch, more imagination, maybe more graphics but definitely more WOW Factor.

    I think that #72 works better, the glasses are better without the eyes and the box is stronger without the speech bubble. I'm not sure about the background white arc, it might be distracting...

    It's nice and simple but it doesn't jump out and grab attention, I don't think that it would be very memorable.

    I like the colours and the imagination and you've certainly tried to apply a lot of ideas but I think the glasses are giving us a readability problem, it looks more like "gookspeak" rather than "geekspeak"

    Thank you all so much for your entries so far.

    A few more points to make about what I'd like to see:

    Speech-bubbles - there have been a number of designs with speech bubbles so far so if you're going to use them then do something amazing, be fantastically creative.

    Colours - a lot of the design colours have been fairly muted. Go mad, this logo is supposed to grab people's attention and not sit meekly in the background, use bold colours, I love colour. As I said in my brief, this is not supposed to be a standard corporate logo, give me colour, grab my attention.
    p.s. I love the colour red.


    Geeking - don't just concentrate on the geek, think about what speaking and presenting means to you, what makes a good speaker, what makes someone want to be a better speaker, think about all this and infuse your design with it.

    Mortar-boards - I'm not sure if these really work and they're more school-related and that's not the image that I have in mind.

    The hair works well, I prefer the characters with a smile than the ones without, I also think that the ones with white eyes work better too.

    in #50, the angle is better but the glasses still don't look like a "g", possibly a backwards "g" but not a "g" so we're still suffering from the "eekspeak" factor.

    Bmcazz, I can see where you were trying to go with this but the "geekspeak" is a bit hard to read and the training looks a bit militaristic to me which isn't quite what I'm going for.

    Scott - clever but possibly a little bit too clever, not everyone will understand the symbology used and it needs to jump out and be obvious and clever at the same time. I do like the training font.

    Tracy thanks for your entries Unfortunately they don't grab me. Also the beanies are more an American geeky thing, I want something that will be instantly recognisable in a more international context so the beanies are a bit localised.

    Dan, still have the eekspeak issue, perhaps if you reverse the glasses, they'll look more like a g that way and have them at the same angle as in #13

    Not sure if this works as well as the first version, the first font was stronger and the colours are still muted, what would it look like with a strong primary colour? Maybe the speech bubble with a strong colour and white text?

    Thank you for all the drafts so far.

    I'm going to give public feedback for all drafts so that you all can get an idea about what works for me.

    Note: I know that glasses are part of the "geek" look, it would be great to see some designs without glasses as well....

    Oh and more colours, not just greens and blues....

    Scott - I like the idea, it's simple and very clear what it's all about.
    Some suggestions: maybe have geekspeak on the one line, it's one word not two. Also I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like in other colour combinations.

    I like where you're going with this and the colours are great but I think that the font and the look are a bit too cartoonish for me.

    I like the way that you made the speech bubble into a character. The colours are nice and strong and its a nice strong font. I'm in two minds about the mortar-board, it certainly adds something to the character but should it be a mortar-board or would something else be better, a hat, or hair?

    Dan, I like the idea of using glasses as a "g" but you have broken "geekspeak" over two lines and the overlap with the "s" for me makes the glasses look just like glasses and the all I can read is "eek speak", perhaps having geekspeak as all one word would help this?
    Like the colours, the font and the general look, it's crisp and sharp.

    This didn't work for me at all, I think that the mortar-board doesn't add anything and the blue/green colour combination doesn't jump out and grab my attention.

    I think that there is too much colour switching going on here but I do love the idea of using the speech bubbles as glasses, that was brilliant.

    Again I love the speech-bubble glasses and I like the simpler colour use here. Perhaps it might be interesting to see these in different colours to see if any jump out at me?

    Kamalovs, I like it, very simple and clever and only in one colour, really well done. It might be interesting to see it in different colours perhaps or white on a colour background?
