Designers, Draft #28 has been removed. Please do not show your designs on contest holder websites without taking prior approval. You are not authorized to do so until confirmed by the contest holder. Thanks

    Re: #32,

I'll be presenting the final drafts to my manager for approval. Could we make it a bit bigger?

    Re: #21,

Could you shave off a couple pixels on the right side of "A" on #21 to make the width of the right stroke on the letter the same as on the left side of the letter, and then upload both the comparison that you've been presenting up until now, and also a new-one-only draft?

Hey I think #21 is as round as I can get it without making the whole S look too rounded or out of proportion!

By the curvature of #14, I mean the rounding of the "S" on the top and bottom.

Is it possible to preserve the sharpened curve of #20 with the curvature of #14?

Draft 16 is a great re-vectoring of the original logo. Unfortunately, the "S" has been the subject of some serious reconstruction as it is simply, per the original, incongruent with the "A" and the "H." I do, however, like the color in draft 16.

Draft 18 appears wavy, as opposed to the very clear cut look we're trying to accomplish. I appreciate the attempt at re-innovation through gradient, but let's keep it to a straightforward single color... I'm pretty sure I can manage a gradient in AI if we later choose to use it.

I prefer Draft 14 to Draft 15. Let's also make the curve of the body of the "S" sharper, as in the original.

I've uploaded ( #18 ) a PNG exported from an .AI file(adobe illustrator format) & like dave said, AI format can be scaled to any size(football ground)without loss of quality.
& it can be exported with transparent or any other color background in PNG, JPG, TIFF etc formats.

By the way I've added a gradient too.

    Re: Draft 12,

Assuming that "S" begins at the top right and ends at the bottom left, let's open up the space between the beginning of the letter and its body to match the space between the end of the letter and the body. Also, let's make both curves on the inside of the "S" slightly more squared off and equal in depth, as in the original.

Changes have been uploaded as requested. The orange you see is just the compression of the file before it is uploaded as a draft. When you recieve the source files they will be a perfect single toned color.

Thanks for sticking with me here, I know the demands are pretty precise.

    Re: Draft 8,

The "S" is a few pixels away from the baseline established between the "A" and the "H."

Maybe it's simply the resolution of the thumb, but I'm picking up a little orange in the places where manipulation occurred. Is there any way to restrict the canvas to a single color?

I'd prefer it if the angle in the middle of the "S" were preserved as in the original, if the two holes in the upper and lower part of the "S" were more clear cut, as in the original, if the ends of the "S" extended closer to the body of the "S," as in the original, and if the width of the letter were consistent all throughout its body.

Also, let's shave a little bit off the right side of the new "A" and add a hair to the left side, middle stroke, and the entire logo, ensuring that every stroke throughout both the logo and the "A," "S," and "H" is a consistent width.

Re: Draft 7 & Comments, top right of draft 6, not top left.

I'm liking the direction the "S" is going in the one on the top right of draft 6. Please refer to the curvature of the bottom of the "S" in the original for reference in making it more rounded.

Also, if you could rotate the smoke coming from the cigarette a bit more clockwise in order to make an equidistant emission from the tobacco, and bring it a bit more centered over the tobacco, that'd be great. Please refer to the original in making the tobacco the exact width as the cigarette, particularly on the bottom.

Draft #5 deviates too much from the original logo in terms of width. It's important to keep the height/width ratio the same as too widescale a change will create discontinuity of the brand. Also, the rotation of the cigarette should stay the same as the original logo, and the two strands of smoke should each originate equidistant from the tobacco, as in the original.

My eye keeps wandering to the "S." It feels almost too stunted now.

Sorry, Those file formats include high res with transparent background images.

  • December 8, 2009 5:49 PM Dave0585

    Hey,

You will recieve a .ai file format with lots of other formats from MB. But the .ai format can be scaled to any size without losing any quality. Even to the size of a building or a bus.

I will upload a few more drafts as I have just realised the A is still at a funny slant.

    Kind regards

    Dave

    Dave0585,

I think the graphic part was updated well. One of the issues we have with the text itself is that the "S" is cut off at the top "see the bottom of the "S" for reference, and the "H" is slanted differently than the "A" and the "S".

As the updated logo is to be used on the website, stationery, etc, the largest possible resolution with a transparent background (if that's possible through MycroBurst) is preferable.

Feel free to alter the font slightly in order to improve the look. I find that the text sometimes looks like it came in contact with a little bit of water on paper, and thereby became slightly distorted.
