#3 website is our logo. . We will sell at the store and online, have specials, offer the cheapest consignment rates anywhere plus always look to improve website content. We may end up advertising wdbay.com because it's easier to remember and type. We might do auctions onsite and online. To give you an idea on our prices, I'm going to offer $1 webhosting per month (unlimited everything). I don't want $2. Customers should feel like they're getting the best deal. They will learn to trust us very quickly .Competition will hate us but if they make it known, we'll stomp them. Good luck.

I'm not going to repeat anything I've already said before. That's what you get for showing up late.

Hi, You thought that maybe the problem is in your description, if in so many days you have so few design proposals.

We can get rid of all 'home' link on my home page. The less links, the better. I'm thinking 3-4 links for the main nav menu: About, Contact, Consignment The rest of the home page should be all about presentation of our products, which I will have to handle. Categories (Antiques, Furniture, Poker Supplies, etc) New/Featured items Specials Our price vs. Their price (with the ability to list multiple products) slogans shopping cart cool graphics I guess this is standard for how people get websites made, right?

Well I'm trying to give feedback on the first design but refuse to log in to Facebook or any other social media site to post comments. I don't want the whole world to know what I think about a design in a website template contest I'm holding for a company that hasn't even opened its doors or made any kind of public announcements yet.

I'm looking for the most attractive background I can get. My products will be split into many categories, but not too many. Antiques Furniture Home Improvement Medical Supplies Fishing Gear Tools Books Poker Supplies Entertainment -Possibly one more. Two at most but I haven't even thought of it. Something that goes with the witchduck theme that is attractive might win out. Hopefully somebody delivers. We'll have all the computer software we need to pull products from store display if they're sold online. It'll be one of the more popular businesses in Va Beach in less than a year. "Up & Coming" lists at the very least.

I signed up for seven days and it's been that long. No entries in seven days, so I've asked for a refund. I can't just choose from 1-2 designs. Not going to happen.

Question from designer: "I was just wondering if this site will be coded in HTML or Flash. The first URL you gave looks like flash, and this will effect how it flows. I just wanted to make sure before I start anything." --Honestly, I don't know how to code anything. I was imagining a mostly static site where I add content in unique ways that people will appreciate. If Home Depot sells a light for $500 and I give it away for $150, I might want a space to compare our price on a specific item to the known retailer's price. I'm the type of guy who will show the customer he/she is appreciated. Customer: "$500 for this poker table is a steal, I gotta have it." Me: "I'm glad you want it. Do you mind if I throw in one of those $150 dealer chairs for free? I'll add a shopping cart and with help, I'll have something attractive.

-Happy to receive substantial time added on to my contest from the logodesignguru staff... I've received messages from two designers who would like more layout ideas. -The logo doesn't have to be in a header; I don't like jumbo headers. Not sure if I want a header without a logo but do appreciate good art and good headers. -Not interested in making people scroll and scroll to find products or information, but don't want thousands of links for people to sift through either. I'd like to give them the opportunity to make purchases on the front page, but don't want the frontpage cluttered. Maybe a few new products, insane specials, clear link to contact us, the shopping cart, maybe a custom graphic or three that fits the company, etc. I'm good at working with space and creating something mildly attractive....Visit victorypokerlounge.net to see my past work. The template to pages at that site include 4-5 text boxes with color added for all the backgrounds....Borders are also text boxes w/ color, just minimized to look like lines. Yahoo Sitebuilder and cooltext made it easy. *I don't mind if the black and white outside portion of our logo is played with. We started out there with emerald background and yellow words on top with white words and stars on the bottom. I just want something unique. I see the baby boomer generation vital, maybe I should've mentioned that but they're not our main target market by any means. We might switch out "Virginia Beach" with a word or phrase that describes us; still haven't thought of anything. We're after beauty and intelligence.

Ok, "Nav placement" totally perplexed me and I just went with the default setting, but now I see it is something major. Assuming "Nav placement" stands for "Navigation menu placement" I'd definitely like that centered but have seen great websites with "navs" on the left, too. Am not afraid to roll with either. Whatever works for your design.

Little-known fact: Virginia Beach is the biggest city in the state There are 7-8 major interestate exits in Va Beach and "Witchduck Road" is one. There is a neighborhood called "Witchduck Point" where proceedings took place about 300 years ago. *I said I didn't need or want a politically incorrect website design, but can be sold on just about anything if the idea is good enough. It's my company and website, but your design. I'm not interested in handicapping thought processes, talents.

Welcome designers... I said "Navy" as first choice of color but don't have much of a preference there. If you think other colors would look good, by all means present it however you want. If I think another color works better and changing it is feasible, I'll put in a request. "PA" is for Princess Anne County, which was Virginia Beach's former name. Grace Sherwood was accused of being a witch here in the early 1700s, ducked in water and placed in jail when she didn't sink to the bottom. Since "Witchduck" is still a major road and interstate exit, I wanted a "politically incorrect" logo. But I don't need or want a "politically incorrect" website. Just something unique that nobody else can ever have. With only one winner, I realize there may be disappointment, but we each have our own tastes and I'm going to choose what I think works best for our business. If you're serious about designing, you shouldn't mind the practice. But I still owe you thanks. Your time is very much appreciated. Looking forward to the next 7 days. Good luck to all.
