  We found it really difficult to choose a winner because there was some really outstanding work put forward. Thanks to everyone who contributed, maybe next time enter a bit earlier, it was a big rush at the end! And to those who were worried about guaranteeing the prize, we will always pick a winner if we get a design we can use - as you can see!

  We're still liking #18, I wonder if the header background could be graduated like the booking search? And the drab green overall background is a bit, well, drab..

  e.g. draft #11.. this booking box is only sample it could be in blue like header color with green button. In header is small flash which you can't see on that print screen. I will prepare one template with this color combination of booking box... And this is CMS and all positions can be changed in sec. :) Anyway thnx for commenting... :)

  Design #11 looks like a wordpress site and it has a blatant laterooms booking box on it! Design #10, a bit plain and uninspiring and too much left to the imagination really...

  We have some great designs to look at now, - we love draft #9 for its simple direct approach, its perfect for a homepage but it will need work to suit the inner pages. #5 is very close to our brief but just needs something to make it special. #7 is good too but also needs the WOW factor to make it stand out. #8 is an attractive design and retains most of the ads, this makes it diffucult to get a clean focussed look...

  hgap, design #4, can you revise please - we should merge 16 and 17 on the map and list as orkney and the shetlands. also can we remove region 13 isles of scilly (as we will incorporate that into Cornwall)... many thanks!

  design #4 took a moment to get used to, but WOW! Its clear, simple and uncluttered. We like it a lot. Of course it means we bin all the current ads, but if it delivered more booking sales this could be worth it.

  Design #3 is a great improvement on design #2, I wonder if it could be further streamlined by reducing the width of the search box and moving it into the left hand nav area. Perhaps we could also change the sky on the right hand side for a leaderboard...

  Design #2 is getting close to what we are looking for. We like the clarity, the colours, the search box... Maybe its a little too 'boxy'- or perhaps it would look better with the overall background being exchanged with the green thats behind the hotel detail boxes. (More like the search box)

  Nice to see some response! We dont want the overall background to be dark green. The idea is to have the main page a centered panel perhaps 1000px wide with a normal white background. Any further space to the sides in a browser sized larger than this would show the background colour. So no dark oclours averall on the whole page! Design #1

  Im surprised you cant see those sites smith 1979, they do both exist and are actively online, Ive been looking for a way of posting screenshots for you or something but this site doesnt seem to have this facility?
