First thing in the morning, sir.

#45- the website info may be a little too big. How about a 20-25% increase from #44 and call it done?

I like the contrast of #44 better than #43. I played with the ratios and think that the website text will show up as 1 inch tall text when the logo is expaned to a 10" tall x 30" wide graphic for my vehicle door signs. Can you make the text of the website a little taller? That should do it.

#42- looks like the winner. Both my wife and I chose it. Can you make the following changes/additions?

Similar to the request for a little more space between the house image and the edge of the backing, can you create a bit more space between the top and bottom of the letters in "home services" and the edge of the gray backing? Instead of shrinking the text, can the bar be expanded vertically slightly? I don't want to pinch the text any more.

Lastly, can you add web address across bottom? I can edit it out of emboidery, so you don't need to worry about text size- just use something that looks good and works with the rest of the logo. Website is www.colemanhomeservices.com . hanks a bunch.

    #40 and #41 both a good, but I don't like the large letter A.

#39- Very strong. I like it, but its more retail than the image I want to present. I'm looking for a low-key approach

#37- I think we're pretty much there. Last few odds and ends and we should be done.

I like the version with squared backing instead of the rounded corners. Let's go with that.
Can we go with smaller bullet points in tagline?
Can ends of roof overhangs be squared off, similar to #28, except without "floating" the roof above the house? these are the points fo the triangle at the ends of the horizontal leg.
Can you ensure that there is some space between the house and the edge of the backing as you had in your original #9? In other words, prevent the house image from touching the edge of the backing.

    Nice work!

#27- don't care for house and tag line needs to center
    #28- better than #27
    #29- don't care for lolor
#30- better, but door is too short (27-30)
#31- don't like round area for house or 2 story house (31-33)
#32- don't like lower case text
#34 and #35- OK, but don't like 2 story house
#36- pretty good, but don't like 2 story house and tag line text too big/tall.

    Thanks

#24 and #25- pretty good, but I think the layout you did on #9 works better for me.Can you go back to #9 and do the following?

-Use the darker gray from #25.
-Take the house from #24 and #25 and drop it in on #9. I understand that it may need to be compressed horizontally to make it work in the squarish box of #9. If you do, I'd take most of the width to be lost out of the windows, as they seem a little wide.
-Tag line can then be centered.
-Lastly, I'd like you to think about whether the bullets points in the tagline work better as the same color as the words (blue) or contrasting (gray).

    Thanks.

#21 and #23- I like them, but they not what I'm looking for.The right side is really strong, but I don't think it will work on shirts due to font size. Not big on the isometric views.

#20- not keen on the font, but I like the house form. Not sure if the initials are needed. Maybe a house form without initials? I like a house form contained within a block for some reason. The white background defining the upper edge of the roof doesn't work too well for me.

#19- The house is a bit too complicated and the font is too contemporary. Looking for something fairly traditional

#18- I don't really like the roof. The simpler house forms work better for me. Thanks

If you click on a designer's image it takes you to a page of that specific designer's images. I have notes on my page and the last one states that at3.5" all of the fonts are minimum 1/4". While on that page if you click a particular logo again it will take you to a full size version of that logo where you can check the size of the font with a ruler if you choose :).

    # 9- I like it a lot. Good work getting it dialed in. Do you think that beefing up the word "Coleman" would help? I'm not sure if it's needed or not. Also, can you verify that the smallest font will be at least 1/4" tall when the logo is 3.5" wide?

    Best submission yet. Good work!

#12 and #13 are nice, but are too feminine for my industry. Thanks

#7- probably a little too "fresh" for my needs. The rainbow effect and the cloud don't really convey what I'm looking for. I want the logo to be a bit more masculine and traditional. Thanks.

#5 Interesting, but the house looks a lot like a barn. I think the post and beam look does that.

#6-same as #5, except that the high contrast in the greens don't get me too excited and the fnt in the tagline is way too small for embroidery.

#4 is pretty good. I need to think about the house graphic. Not sure what I don't like about it, but it needs to be tweaked. I'll look at it and try to pin that down. Couple of suggestions- make a bigger break between "home" and "services" so the words don't run together. Also maybe smaller dots. Would the gray bar look better separated from the gray house area? Lastly, need to ensure that the font size works for embroidery as noted in the brief. Best draft so far. Thanks!

Draft # 2 is headed in right direction. I think losing the gradient is a good idea. I'm open to using a different font on #2, as well. It's OK, but I liked the font in the logo I originally referenced in the portfolio, too.

Not keen on font in draft #3.

Will tag line be added later?

  • October 6, 2011 1:57 PM sharl

Yes sir, simpler version coming right up.

Thanks. This is probably a little intricate for my needs, especially for embroidery on clothing. Can you take a look at the simpler design on page 14 of the Construction portfolio? That one seemed to be about right. The reversed text worked well, too. Thanks again.
