Creative Brief

Horizontal scrolling homepage

Consulting company needing a unique layout

IT2relate does consulting and implementation projects within CRM which are the processes around sales, marketing, service, call centers, web shops and more. Even though such engagements of course need the technical involvement from IT, it for sure also needs the business and in this segment the business consists of extrovert colorful people.

The homepage must be different than the competitors and one way of doing that is by having horizontal scrolling with a menu bar on the left (if the design would be better, you can place it on the top). If it can be done in a cool way, then the left menu bar could be a bit to the right of the left border so that the scrolling background is visible. The scrolling should accelerate and de-accelerate when moving to the part of the homepage that should be displayed. There should not be a scrollbar. Menu: Start (or logo) Packages Services Next Step Career About On the start page there should be a combined sign up for newsletter and contact form (like here: applicon[dot]dk[slash]om-applicon). (Title, first name, last name, e-mail, mobile phone number, checkbox for Newsletter sign up and a free text field). The homepage must be easy to extend with additional texts. There should be teasers on the start page that will navigate the user to a place on one of the subpages with more information. It could be interesting to have flipping boxes like in Window Mobile, where one side of the box has a teaser one-liner and when the mouse hovers over it flips and the solution is on the back and when clicked, the page scrolls to the place with more information. But I do not know how easy that will be to implement with HTML5. Inspire me. In addition add the content that normally is part of a start page. You will find logo and teasers as attachments. For additional text use dummy latin.

The homepage should be compatible with Internet Explorer and Crome, it should be accessible from Android pads and phones and Apple Iphones and Ipads, but I assume that will all automatically be possible when HTML5 is used for the development. The homepage must be easy to extend with additional menu items / texts.

Dear designers, sorry for the silence the last days, but I'm on a business trip with a very high work load. I will be traveling back tonight (UTC+8) and be in Denmark Friday morning CET. The competition has been extended in order to get more time for the iterations. Thanks. Best regards, Bent.

A general remark is that the only place for information is the horizontal scrolling area, so it should be maximized as much as possible. There should not be used more space than absolutely necessary for the static header and footer.

Hi, in addition to what was written in the brief, I would also like you to come up with suggestions. There can e.g. be static information areas in the top or bottom and then it is only the middle that scrolls horizontal between the main and subpages. /Bent.
