#2 is going in the right direction. Some alternative ways that the test tube may be incorporated into the logo would be to use the "L" or the "X" in "Complex", perhaps also a molecule or atom symbol may work as well. Draft #3 I think would be better if the "Beta Booster" was not so bold. Also the lines in the "P" are quite thick.
Not a bad start but the test tube and the "P" were not integrated enough seemed like to separate objects placed on top of each other. An alternate possibility would be to have a single line "C O M P L E X" with the P over sized and emphasized. Also the "Beta Booster" tag line is missing.
