Description of website business:
The target market is primarily female parents between the ages 23 - 44 and educators purchasing for their students. A secondary market exists for grandparents, aunties and uncles buying toys for birthdays, Christmas and other holidays.
Kid Genius will have an easy-to-navigate website that will facilitate quick ecommerce transactions. It will also allow for referral codes, provide a visually appealing design and easy to find contact information. Products will be easily uploaded, updated and maintained by staff, which will sync with multiple sales channels via Amazon.ca, eBay, and Google products. A website blog where new products and educational resources will be posted on a weekly basis. The colour scheme can be found at: http://sunrise-theme.myshopify.com/.
In 2013 $3.87B was spent by Canadian consumers on toys and games . As the world economies slowly improve, more discretionary income will push up sales. The website will cater towards this market be taking advantage of the local search option within Google to serve Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland residents in British Columbia. Categories on the website will include educational toys by category, special education, First Nations, and Classroom/homeschool supplies. A niche product market currently under-served in the toy industry is First Nations inspired toys, games and children’s books. This will be an early focus of research and development.
Project:
The online educational toy, game and classroom supply store needs to speak to both a playful and fun atmosphere. The logo needs to appeal to professional teachers and parents homeschooling their children. So while maintaining the playful colour-scheme, the target markets are educated parents, caregivers, and teachers. This site is driven towards providing the right tools to allow genius to come out in children. This logo will be used on corporate stationary, the website, e-newsletters, email templates and business cards.
