Doktor Krusher
Destroy Data on the Spot
Yes
Doktor Krusher LLC is a small, young company that makes a simple but very effective portable tool to destroy hard drives that are found computers, copy machines, medical equipment, and many other applications. When hard drives fail or are replaced due to age or equipment upgrades, the data on the drive is typically still intact and very much recoverable. This is a serious problem for all IT departments and service organizations around the world. Hard drives in banks, hospitals, police departments, government offices, (to name just a few) contain data that is "in the public trust" and must not be allowed into criminal hands. Our product is the lightest, most portable solution available and allows service technicians to destroy a hard drive at the very point it is uninstalled, reducing the chances that the drive can be misappropriated or copied. It is hand operated, needs no electricity, is very environmentally friendly and promotes recycling. It is less than 1/10th the cost and less than 1/5th the weight of the bench top power crushers.
We will soon completely replace our current web site with a new one and add a very small shopping cart. We want to launch a new logo (or more correctly, our first ever logo) with the web site. The logo will be featured on the web site AND must be suitable to be prominently featured on the product itself. Our product is made in the United States.
You can see our product and understand what it does by visiting our web site, doktorkrusher.com. There is a link on the site to a video demonstration of the product that might give you some ideas too.

Maybe black and green, but only if the idea of recycling can be tied into the primary idea of destroying hard drives. If other colors better convey the idea of terminating data, destroying hard drives or sanitizing hard drives, then we'd prefer to communicate the primary thought.

We have doodled ideas using a hard disc platter as it would appear inside a hard drive (they look very much like a CD or DVD but are all silver with a perfect mirror surface) and some form of triangular recycling logo over-layed on the disc which was okay, but didn't convey that our tools destroy hard drives. We facilitate recycling a hard drive, but our specialty is portable, on the spot destruction of hard drives thereby assuring the data doesn't fall into the wrong hands. We also played with a hard disc platter looking like a skull in a skull and crossed bones design and quickly tossed that out as being too cutesie and not conveying that our tools do serious work.
