Creative Brief

Campi & Company: Create Website

Our tagline is "Be Heard."

www.campiandco.com

We are a full-service strategic consulting firm that assists Fortune 500 companies with high-stakes communications, public affairs and crisis management. Campi & Company was founded by Esther Campi, a trusted adviser to America's top leaders -- from CEOs to U.S. senators. We provide C-suite executives with advice and counsel for any kind of communications where the stakes are high: with regulators, boards of directors, major investors and media; public affairs campaigns such as trying to pass legislation; and crisis management.

The over-arching "look and feel" theme should be communications. Below are some websites we like: http://www.thisisgrow.com/ http://waterlife.nfb.ca/ http://www.kooba.ie/index.php http://www.thismanslife.co.uk/ http://www.businesscatalyst.com/ http://tracking-time.com/ The sites we like tend to have a black background with reverse white type. I think we like them because they are clean and modern. I want clean and modern, but could do without a black background for my site.

Our target audience is CEOs and other senior executives, so the look and feel must be ultra-professional, sophisticated, modern and fresh. We must have a clean design that inspires confidence that our firm can handle the most high-level strategic communications that affect Fortune 500 companies’ reputations. Trust and professionalism are key. Nothing cluttered or immature – but we’re not stodgy or old-fashioned, either. Just strategic, smart, trustworthy, clear and crisp. The design must not overpower the message of the website. IMPORTANT: The website elements should take into account that a significant group of potential clients will be accessing the site on their mobile devices. Mandatory elements: • company name: Campi & Company (use the ampersand, not the word “and”) • logo • tagline: “Be Heard. • website address – CampiAndCo.com • phone – 404-583-3016 • NC address: 408 Village Crossing Dr., Chapel Hill, NC, 27517 • Atlanta address: 1404 Westchester Ridge, NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 I am selling myself as an expert adviser to Fortune 500 companies that need help with high-stakes communications that can affect their companies’ reputations. Everything should be appropriate for this audience. Home Page Below are the major elements I need on the home page. Your challenge is how to smartly incorporate these things while maintaining a clean, easy site that is not cluttered. Home Page - Quotes A key feature of my home page should be prominently featured quotes from CEOs who have endorsed my work (we may later include their pictures). This “endorsement” feature might be the most important thing on my home page, so the page should be built with that in mind. I’ll leave it to you to figure out how to prominently and tastefully display these quotes on the home page – perhaps with giant quote marks and a scrolling bar. I need to be able to add more as I get them. And there are quite a few, so you’ll have to come up with a creative way to display these in rotation, but also make them readable on iPad and mobile devices. I’ll leave that to you. The quotes are at the bottom of this brief. AND IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE THAT THE WINNER OF THIS CONTEST WILL BE THE DESIGNER WHO COMES UP WITH THE BEST WAY TO FEATURE THESE QUOTES. Home Page - 3 Major Services You should also consider a way to cleanly display the 3 major services we offer (detailed below) on the home page, and perhaps make them clickable to the Services page. I tend to be a fan of web pages that have three easy “panes” on the home page for customers to choose from: • Corporate Communications • Public Affairs • Crisis & Issues Management Home Page - Tagline I would also like to incorporate our tagline on the home page: “Be Heard.” Home Page - Social Media I might also eventually add a blog, a Twitter feed, or a section that features hot PR topics in the news, so suggest ways to incorporate social media on the home page without it becoming too cluttered. Home Page - Map Our firm has two locations – North Carolina and Georgia. Please consider where to place an interactive U.S. map where people can click and see our addresses in GA and NC. 5 Landing Pages of Website I will need the following 5 sections on the nav bar, which open up into landing pages: 1 - Home 2 - About (landing page should include space for my photo and bio, as well as links to news articles about me) 3 - Services (I need to showcase three services: • Corporate Communications • Public Affairs • Crisis & Issues Management On the Services landing page, there should be room for a few sentences describing each service, and perhaps an image or photo for each. 4 – Issues & Industries (I need a clean, clever way to list the industries and issues where I have experience, and allow readers to click on topics of interest and read a short case study about my experience in that industry or with that issue. This list under case studies should include: • Advisor to CEOs (this link should then allow for additional sub-links under it to various case studies within this topic) • Health Care • Transportation • Water Conservation • School-Board Reform • Housing Policy • Green Energy • Telecommunications • Tobacco Taxes • Labor-Union Negotiations • College Sports 5 - Contact Us Must include a Web-based email that goes to: Esther@CampiAndCo.com Phone number: 404-583-3016 Quotes for Home Page Rick Smith Chairman and CEO, Equifax, Inc. “Esther has earned the respect of every CEO she has worked with in Atlanta.” Pete Correll Chairman, Atlanta Equity Chairman Emeritus, Georgia-Pacific Corp. “Esther is the person you want by your side in a firefight. Her support and counsel were invaluable to me during our multi-year campaign to save Grady Hospital.” Tom Bell Chairman, Mesa Capital Partners 2010-2011 Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce “Esther is that rare person who speaks the languages of business, politics and media – having served in the trenches in all three industries. She knows her way around a board room, a Capitol Hill press conference and a newsroom.” Bill Linginfelter Area President, Georgia/South Carolina, Regions Bank “Before you step on stage for a major speech or face the cameras for a high-profile issue campaign, Esther is the person you want as your adviser. I worked directly with her on issues ranging from transportation to education to economic development. She’s a pro.” Neely Young Publisher & Editor in Chief, Georgia Trend Magazine “Esther Campi appreciates the role of the press in the business arena. … She is known all over Georgia as a person that is well respected by media veterans for knowing how to work effectively with us.” Sam A. Williams President, Metro Atlanta Chamber “In her tenure at MAC, Esther managed high-stakes, front-page civic issue campaigns like saving Grady Hospital, sharing good news about the tens of thousands of jobs MAC has recruited to Atlanta and oversaw our yearly brand survey, rebranding campaign, and marketing dashboard. Most of all, she’s been a trusted advisor to me and our board. I would strongly recommend her to any company, knowing how effective she is as a speech writer, media strategist, public relations or crisis counselor.” ###

#19 Really like the clean, crisp, ultra-professional look. Be sure to use our proper company logo at the top (I like the use of the stand-alone "Cs" as accent elements elsewhere, but need the full logo at the top of the home page).

#10 Good job capturing the mandatory elements from my brief, including prominent display of quotes. We are replacing the map with a video.

All Designers: Wow, some good stuff here. Please be sure to include our mandatories -- proper company logo, prominently feature the quotes from my endorsers, feature the 3 buckets of our service offerings -- and please add a space for a video as in #19, and remove the map and office locator (we have decided against that now). I will be most favorable to designs that show some interior page concepts as well.

Designers: There are some good ideas here. Please make sure your designs include the following mandatory elements: our company's full formal logo the CEO endorsement quotes as the most prominent feature as soon as someone comes to the site 3 buckets or windows for our 3 major service offerings: corporate communications, public affairs, crisis and issues management

#6 I like this clean, crisp design. Could you tweak in the following ways: use our company's proper logo. Put quotes at the top instead of the bottom (see #8). I need these quotes to be the first thing people see. Keep the video, love that. Can I also see some interior page concepts? I like the traditional, minimal navigation bar of #6 versus #7.

#8 I love the way the endorsement quotes are prominently featured here. I also like the use of 3 pictures to illustrate the 3 different service offerings. I would pick different pics if finalizing, but I like the concept. Could I see some interior pages?

#1 I like this clean design. "Company" is spelled the traditional way at my firm(though for another type of company, the "i" playing off the "i" in "Campi" would be cute. I need to stay more traditional for this firm, though). I'd be interested in seeing a fuller web template design from you.
