CHRISTOPHER BRIGGS PHOTOGRAPHY

Yes

Nature / outdoor photographer covering southern California mountains, coast and deserts. Not a requirement at all to incorporate a nature theme into the logo. See http://chrisbriggs.photoshelter.com/ for website and current (crappy looking) logo.
Examples of what I’m looking for…
For the black and white logos see:
The Harsh*Patel Photography logo (http://www.logodesignguru.com/Logo-design-portfolio/portfolio.asp?page=2&cat_id=35&tab=1#port); it’s definitely on the right track and very close to what I am looking for… simple, graphic and classic style. Another example I like on LogoDesignGuru are the recent designs for Oscar Dean Photography by waqasss (#124 and others); simple but elegant graphic design that works on black or white background (although the graphic elements / this use of initials in the design doesn’t do much for me).

For the Blue logo take a look at the Design 19 logo at (http://www.logodesignguru.com/Logo-design-portfolio/portfolio.asp?cat_id=53&Page=3&tab=1#port) Really like the look of that one (without the D19 element)! Another is the Mackey’s logo (http://www.logodesignguru.com/Logo-design-portfolio/portfolio.asp?page=2&cat_id=53&tab=1#port)

Two different styles I have seen that I like: (1) Black and White with Red accent/highlight/element; all or predominantly red is not desirable but would like to at least incorporate some red into a B&W design. Am also seeing many logos utilizing (2) Blue with subtle gradations that are really nice (see reference above) and would like to see some submissions in this vein as well.

Guidelines:
I need the logo to be designed in two different orientations: (1) as a linear arrangement (for use on long horizontal website header) and (2) also stacked on top of each other (three high) for use on business cards and other media where a long horizontal logo will not fit or work visually. The logo needs to be designed for use on a black or white background (white text for black backgrounds and black text for white backgrounds = two variations of each design). Also need (3) a copy of the logo in both layouts/designs but with a transparent background for website use.

Prefer ALL CAPS to make a statement of strength and solidity. Lean toward more graphic designs and fonts; strong, simple and classy. Generally don’t favor circular logos or predominant elements, although open to incorporating a lens iris or something like that into the logo to make the photography connection (again not mandatory and most logos I’ve seen that utilize this kind of element in the design are not to my liking).
Graphic elements that convey style, class or elegance are ok but not if they detract from the strength of the design or convey a soft, fuzzy or feminine feeling. Bold, visually arresting and not overly complicated works for me. Incorporating initials (CB or CBP) into the design is permissible but not a requirement.

Currently preparing to launch a Photoshelter website with an Induro template. The Photoshelter website background is black and I will require a .gif or .png file with a transparent background for this particular purpose; this must be provided in the final package. Ideally logo submissions will include versions that will translate well on a black or white background and make a strong statement either way.

Thank you for considering designing for this project… LMK if you have any questions!
